I think it will be well beyond that unless they think the residuals will be amazing and/or it was partnered with something else so it did a lot less miles.

The Turbo Panamera has always had wood trim as standard, but it can be changed.

I'd expect it to start at £75-80k for the base model, which really means well over £80k by the time you've added decent wheels etc. A 4S petrol with a decent spec will be around the £100k mark.

It looks great from the front and rear 3/4, but side it it just looks soooooo long. (And I'm going to say this quietly) at those prices, I think I'd have a Cayenne.

If the next Cayenne is priced in line with the current one, it will be significantly cheaper than the Panamera.  If it looks like a bigger Macan, which it will, then it will look pretty good too.

i was thinking through how this would fit in my life and it left me wondering. It's a very cool car that would be practical enough to use every day, but I'm not sure how that would work for me. A mate of mine has a Ferrari FF. This is supposed to be a 'practical' Ferrari, but it's just not. He doesn't nip down to Homebase or do the school run in it - it's still a Ferrari. If I had a practical Porsche I still wouldn't want to use it every day - just because it fits shopping in the boot doesn't mean I'm taking it to a Tesco car park. And then when it came to a weeekend B road blast it would be just too big. Just a thought.

Our Porsche is very practical and is used pretty much every day, even trips to the supermarket on occasion, when we need something between deliveries..  Waitrose not Tesco though, so maybe that makes all the difference.  

More seriously, I expect a lot of these will be part of a 2-3+ car garage and used for longer trips.  I'd happily use one every day.

Just seen the prices, it's a £2k premium over the standard car, less than I expected.

Big powerful saloons tend to depreciate quickly, does the Porsche badge prevent this?

It looks fabulous. I've never quite liked the look of the regular Panamera, this looks better resolved at the back. It sounds strange, but the Gran Turismo visually hides its bulk more effectively as well.

I don't doubt it will be extremely expensive, but things like the E63 Estate, the next CLS 63 Shooting Brake and the next Alpina B5 Touring won't be far behind in terms of pricing with options.

I would love Porsche to make something smaller than the Panamera that isn't an SUV....

I was passed by and then followed a new Panamera this morning, the first time I've had a proper look at one on the road.  It looked brilliant in Agate grey with big wheels and the stance/proportions are great.  It just needed the sports exhaust or sports tailpipes to get round pipes.

Not sure about cayenne suffering bad depreciation ,6 year old diesel cars not well specced are 30k ,they were 43k new .
The arrival of a new one next year will have an effect ,but a few years ago it was named the best car to buy in terms of minimising depreciation.

Saw my first one in the week. Not actually as far removed from the Mk1 as I thought it would be, though definitely better. Also looked a bit daft crawling trough the city with the big wing extended.

Unfortunately you can extend the wing manually, as you can in all other Porsches and anything else with a similar solution.  It's called Miami Style in our house, because we didn't see a single Porsche with the wing in the closed position when we were there.  They all look worse with it raised, so no idea why people do it.
