Highly recommend you try an S Line first, to make sure you're happy with the ride.  Surprised you think the A6 looks better inside, but we all have different taste.

Worth trying to haggle a bit more though? BMW willing to deal on the old model big time.

BMW not budging on price or term, in fact alluding to price rise of 50 unless taken today.
Been offered the A6 in S-line trim for same money as SE, which is seriously taken my fancy. Better looking inside & out than the 5, 50 a month cheaper than the Volvo.

I can see the appeal of that. The A6 Avant is a good-looking beast in S-Line trim. You had better like black leather and silver interior trim though because Audi want a king's ransom for any other interior finish I notice.

Audi makes sense at that money but I'd be all over that Volvo. In the right spec the interiors are a different league ahead of the Germans

Audi is now out of the running. Interior was nicer than the BM, but the seats are awful. BMW didn't feel like too big a jump from my previous E90.
Volvo interior is fabulous, but it's fucking enormous. Two litre four cylinder, turbo or not, really doesn't suit a car of this size.
Jag dealer is bringing us an XE and an XF (both Rsport) for us to have a good poke around and drive next week.
Volvo interior really is impressive though.

Was there no option of extending the lease and waiting for the imminent XC60, persumably a very similar interior in a vehicle at a size that suits you?

Yeah, saw the earlier version of that article.
I have given up and asked the lease company to quote to extend for 6/12 months.

Could be a wise choice. You've been caught out by a number of new cars being just a few months away. Great if you like what's on the market now as you benefit from run out deals, but a pain if you want a new model.
