It seems that I am also a diabolical driver on Forza, but have managed to make 48k in credits already.

I turned all the assists off, as you should do, and just went for it. My Fiesta looked like banger racer at the end of the first lap. I'm a very 'physical' racer..

Playing Forza with your mates is funny if you all drive the same car and have a decent crash fest. I've become pretty good at the 'sweep' - spinning them out by sideswiping the rear of the car with your front.

Doing 'proper' racing can be frustrating because it's best if you're all of a similar standard, which rarely happens.

I'm only doing career mode to collect money and cars now. The most fun I had was racing with Matt and Humph online.

Proper racing won't be happening, I'm not interested in that. Dicking about is my forte.

Just got Max Payne 3 for £30 at work thanks to it being wrongly priced and then 10% off that. Won't get a chance for a play until sunday night though.

I call that "the hook".

I sometimes play GT5 on PSN, I shouldn't enjoy it, but dirty NASCAR can be fun.

To be honest I'm a bit bored with Forza now that I've gotten almost all the cars. I can't wait for Horizon.

My bro-in-law got Horizon demo but its quite arcadey.
I think the demo is quite limited in what you can do to the car but having played it for 10 minutes it reminds me of stuff like Driver 3 - you can race/do the missions or you can just drive around.

What driver level are you at on Forza 4?

I 'think' I just passed Level 40. But the remaining cars to be unlocked for me in Career Mode are race cars, of which I don't have much interest.

I already have the Veyrons and McLarens and etc.

I haven't been on my X-Box for about 4 months, I'm thinking of selling it.

Did anybody watch Fifth Gear last night, Tiff Needell reviewed a number of computer driving games. You might be surprised at what game he thought was most realistic…

Christ Ben you've barely scratched the surface.
Is career mode the bit where you have a calendar of events?

I think the other one is Events mode? Check that and see which boxes are still grey - probably about 80% of them.

Yes.

To be fair I only play to collect cars. Not really that into actual 'racing'.

iPhone Game Centre "free" racing games are normally Drag racing based (I have won just about everything on CSR racing without spending my own real cash) or platform based jumping games (Road Trip 2 is cool and played it until I could afford the DB5 then stopped playing it).

However Real Racing 3 is just the mutts nuts. Proper tracks, proper cars, win money and gold and buy better cars. patience and time are the key.  I've had it just over two weeks and alredy have a Mclaren, a 911 GT3, a fully upgraded Focus RS and some other dull rubbish needed for single car rounds. It's also the first game I've played on the iPhone where the gyro-steering actually works.

Great game.

Brutal Doom.

It's Doom, but brutal.

The best FPS game ever is now better.

Get thee to Youtube and check it out.

Kind of Doom meets Gears of War then?

Having never played Gears Of War, I can't answer that.

It's Doom with headshots, fatalities, improved weapon physics, lighting and playability.

Oh, and full online capability.

Graphically pretty much identical to original Doom, but smoother and with better light effects.

I spent a few hours last weekend playing it online and it is awesome. Also incredibly difficult at times.

Bought a copy of San Andreas to mess about with before GTA V this autumn. Runs at high quality 720p on my laptop with Intel HD graphics. Pleasantly surprised.

Xbox360: Gamertag Speed Runner 10. Driver level 276, billionaire (without cheating), approx 20,000 cars sold in the auction house all cheevos bar the kinect one. I'm beta testing Forza Rewards prior to a website revamp and the launch of Forza5.

XboxOne: pre-ordered with Forza5 also pre-ordered. Off to do some crime to pay for them.

(incidentally xboxone is $499 in US. In UK its £430 - or $645 at the current-ish rate of exchange. Day1 edition Forza5, exclusive to Game is an eye-watering £54.99)
