Will he be there in his big white Cadillac, holding a cigar and leering at Daisy Duke?

One of my mates is a huge fan of that brand of aftershave and was trying to persuade me to go to see the display at Hampden.

No ta.

This one!

Don't get to many concerts and only seen him live once before (Villa Park 1987 or 91, can't work out which). Had pants seats last time, booked standing this time and will be on my own so can force myself forwards.

When he played St. James's Park in the mid-eighties, he was on for considerably more than 2 hours!

Some of my mates went down to see him for 3 of the (I think) 5 nights he did then, and every one of them loved every second. I know he's a bit older now, (OK - 30 years older, but then so am I!) but still looking forward to the gig.

Had a great night at the isle of wight festival when he headlined in the summer...

...Because we went to the second stage where they had massive screens showing the England v Italy euro2012 match.

Im no Springsteen fan- dull dad rock IMO. He was on stage after Noel Gallacher and the exodus from the main stage after Noel was huge so I guess I'm not alone.

I'm hoping for 3 at least!

Best buy the new albums as well though it's the old stuff I prefer.

Not sure about the "Dad rock" comment, he's very much the social commentator, a more modern Woody Guthrie you may say.

I like The Boss. He's a working class boy done good and he's done well to survive the shitehawk music industry as long as he has, especially considering his 'touching an alarming amount of cloth' vocal style.

It's the difference between being a 'Dad' and being a Dad of children where you are past the point of worrying whether your son leads to an irate dad knocking on the door with a scan picture/ the fear of a daughter presenting said scan picture (delete as appropriate).

For those of us who are Young Guns (kisses biceps), he is well before our time!

Haven't seen much of my boss in 2 weeks.

Never like Broooooce, I guess because he's largely an unrepentant 4-bar rock song writer with basically little development in output since 1973 including his "social messaging" in his lyrics.

I love of AC/DC, however, who have basically been writing the same shit for 30 years+ but when you have lyrics like "let me put my love into you, babe; let me cut your cake with my knife" you can't go wrong.

That's why it is Dad rock. The idea that good music stopped being made in 1973!

I'm a dad and almost closer to 50 than 40. The last song I downloaded was Flo Rida's "Whistle" and then found a version with the lyric "Blow my whistle, bitch".

Which was nice.

Lost count of the number of tracks tbh - well into the 30's though I reckon! Wrecking Ball (the track) was about 5 in, and was the most recent by a long way. Loads of people down in the pit had placards with, amongst other things, requests for different songs for him to do. It seems he pays a lot of attention to these, because the set lists for every gig are massively different!

Ended his main set with "Born to Run" IIRC, but then had an encore of at least 25 minutes, including "Darlington County", "Tenth Avenue freeze out" and  "Rosalita", to name but three. He segued into some Beatles stuff as we were leaving (both of us being a little concerned we wouldn't get on the train!) but we could still hear pretty well most of the way to the station.  We made the train as it happens, but not without queueing for nearly half an hour even leaving early!

You will thoroughly enjoy it I'm sure - 3 1/4 hours for a 63-year old is damn good going in my book too!!

Just in

All heading for the pitch

It was actually brighter than it looks in the pic

Lots of lights on now!

Getting near the end now.

There were a few more pics, but quite limited in scope due to where we were + crappy HTC phone camera!

Well, the alleged kick-off time was 7pm, but the band didn't get on-stage til 25 past. We were sat down by 6:40, but went to the bar as well, so that filled a few minutes. Any point up to scheduled start (I'm assuming a similar 7pm) should be fine I reckon.

Hope you enjoy it - we did!

Mate of mine was there 5 hours before the start - 2 1/2 hours wait for the golden wristband to get in in the pit and 2 1/2 hours after that for Springsteen to come on stage.

Golden Wristband, what's that? Gates open at 4.30 so only 2.5 hrs before concert starts.

Fantastic night last night.

Very jealous of Parm who turned up at 2pm and got a Golden wristband, I was later so only in the standing area, so we didn't get to meet up.

I was about 2m from the front of normal standing so an excellent view.

Great show - he's a great showman and the band are the tightest I've seen. Top quality PA as well so sound quality close to the front was brilliant.

I'll upload some pics later.

Highlights were Born to Run album played from beginning to end, the interaction with the signs, especially the kids, giving his harmonica at the end of The River to the child who'd requested it, the girls on stage for Dancing in the Dark (including one playing his guitar) and the marriachi band feel to Pay Me My Money Down

Quite possbly the best I've seen him play. Shame GBaB and I didn't get to meet other than over SMS. Being in the Golden Circle was a real treat though and the atmosphere was fab. The entire play of the Born To Run album really made the night for me. The PA really was good. Far better than at Hatd Rock last year. And Bruce made the night for a few happy punters who got to go on stage or have their requests played, of which there were a few. Awesome night.

I would have loved it if he'd played the whole of "Born to Run" on Tuesday; sadly, we only had 3 or 4 tracks, all of which I sang along to!

On the other hand, if he had played all of it, plus a load of other earlier stuff, I would still be voiceless - not good when, like Bruce, your voice is your job!
