Can you actually imagine playing it though, after all these years?

If it does make it out, I doubt it'll have much in common with what it started out as in 1997.

By calling it that, you have to wonder if the developers intended it as a joke anyway.

IIRC they have spent upwards of $20million on it.

When it began in 1997, it was based on the Quake 2 engine, IIRC. Then the Unreal engine and countless others until it was panned. Have a gander on Youtube for the 2009 demo, it is staggeringly good.

Why the over zealous censorship in the video? I'll be properly pissed off if they do that in the game. The whole point of Duke is beer, blood, bombs and boobs. I actually hope there is more violence, swearing and nakedness this time around, I thought Duke3D was abit tame for an 18 rating.

I won't be buying DNF, mainly because my machine won't stand a chance of running it. I'll just wait until my Brother gets it and play it at his house.

The trailers will be all over youtube so they cant really have them uncensored.  The main game won't be so, being an 18.

Oh dear, perhaps it needed more development time?

The reviews have been negative overall.  Most of the comments from people playing it seem to suggest its being looked at from the wrong perspective though and has been judged too harshly.  I will get it, but not till its come down a bit.

^^^ The Xbox version is the worse from reviews I have read, obviously PC is the platform to play it on.

Maybe if it was a fiver in a bargain bin?

It need'nt go that cheap for me to pick it up, once its down to <20.  I think it will be good, just a bit rough around the edges.
