I know they are fantastic to drive - but the Exige (& Elise) do nothing for me as far as wanting to own/have one is concerned.

Wouldn't disagree at all. Presumably a distractionary tactic given that Lotus's model cycles are best measured in geological terms!

Especially as there was an Exige Cup 260 launched just the other week; this seems to be that with a fancy paint job.

Apparently the worst thing about them is your so low, seeing around cars ahead is very difficult, you cant see through their windscreen or anything so to look edge you have to move into the middle of the road.

I haven't driven an Exige but have driven a Mk1 Elise and found being able to look up into the wheel-arches of 4x4s a bit unsettling. Overtaking on an uphill stretch of road was a bit scary too.

epic cars until after a bout 6 months when your down the dealers trying to work out why water is leaking in through your roof,why you can see the road beneath your feet through the floorpan,and why the front left side wheel has fallen off....as reliable as 911 turbos.

What do you reckon to the Evora, franki?

Have you had a go in one, and do you think it will be as 'reliable' as the Elise and Exige members of the Lotus family?

(I haven't driven one, but after sitting in one I have no desire to own one, regardless of how good it is to drive.)

Indeed. I'm sure that my Elan SE met all legal requirements but a minor rear impact creased it to mid wheel arch and sent the spare wheel through the boot wall and into the car. Another couple of MPH and I'd could have been in danger of a very nasty back / spine injury.
