I might query one or two of his ratings, but mostly agree.

Hamilton's rating is fair imo, he put the Mclaren in places it really should not have been and handled a poor car far better then some people had predicted, and so far has outscored everybody in the second half of the season.

Sorry Button, next you better watch out.

That's one I do agree with - in fact his top five would be the same as mine except I'd put Vettel ahead of Barrichello.

Yep - I broadly agree with his assessment too.

His top five are spot on - I would put Vettel behind Barrichello for extracting less of his potential over the season.

I would put Alonso above Raikkonen for the same reason, and don't think Glock has any particular business in the top ten. Both Kubica and Heidfeld - and Trulli, for that matter - have done more.

I'm not sure on the positionings of Webber and Vettel, I think I would swap them around. Vettel hasn't destroyed Webber, as everyone thought he would and I'm still to be convinced by him, I don't see this wunderkid yet, he makes too many mistakes and apart from his drive in Brazil he has only ever really shone from pole, I think he is far too overhyped at the moment.

I agree, Vettel is stunningly fast when everything is just about perfect and takes pole, he will then pull away and leave everybody for dust. But when he isn't on pole, he either loses ground or loses that magic speed.

He rarely overtakes either, even in Brazil it was Button who was diving up the inside, he doesn't excite me much. Amazing speed from pole, but apart from that - he doesn't really excel like some people like to think he does.

I mean Hamilton, in the Mclaren almost has the same number of wins as Vettel and has the same number of pole positions, and one car has clearly been superior...

Surely our views are coloured by what we see?

For instance at Brazil we got to see Button make some fantastic overtakes but even just a few years ago they would've been missed by the cameras, and consequently us, as we followed Schumi round and round in the red car.

Might it be that Glock, say, has done some stellar drives but they simply haven't been seen by us?

I can't agree with Kimi being high up the list as he was cruising for the first half of the year and that must detract massively from anything that happened subsequently?
