The return pipe from the rad. A small aliimen..aliuminuium.. Metal pipe! about three inches long that is attached to a rubber hose... I've not drove the car for two weeks....It would make a noise if all the coolant 'went south' whilst at speed.

Nothing shows up on any sites I've trawled. And even the Ford dealership didn't have a clue into what exactly that part was called!!!!! And they fvcking serviced it!

Ford dealership

Therein lies the problem.  Not specific to Ford, either.  Main dealers tend to be generally cack.  Occasionally there are good ones but specialists are better by some margin.

I totally agree Stu..but unfortunately we're talking an RS Ford, a minor matter to those that don't buy into the marque or feel it's just a run of the mill hothatch.

People buying these cars are swayed into having Ford stamps on the service, irrespective what monkey spun the spanners.

It appears to be the underlying theme within the community of RS Fords that it ain't worth a toss..unless it ain't stamped with a service history from Ford and a way of checking it's service via the history file.

Too many a silly exerzise..Too the majority it seems not.

My brother used to work for a local Ford dealer, and from what he says the independent garages he worked for after he left there were much more conscientious than the dealer ever was...

If they ever got a nice car in at the Ford dealership (Focus RS, Mondeo ST200) it was treated no differently when they were 'spannering it',but it would invariably be "treated" to a test run by the head mechanic...

Tell me, do Ford still have "RS Dealerships", back in the day (RS 1600i, RS Turbo, Sierra Cosworth) I seem to remember they were sourced from RS Dealerships only, or was that just a local phenomenon?

What kind of diameter is this pipe? I have stainless pipe lying around that may 'bridge the gap'.

Can you engrave a "Ford" logo into it though?

Still without the RS?

I'm still without the ZT.

Sucks, doesn't it?
