I agree that Button doesn't seem to have done enough to win the title convincingly, at the start of the year he was fantastic and showed that he would fully deserve the championship but in the second half he went to pieces and just doesn't have the killer instinct that say Alonso, Hamilton and Kimi seem to posses. He has been extremely lucky in the races where he has performed below par, with his main rivals having problems to cancel out his below par performances. _________________ Mummy, Daddy, Sissy, Sassy Baby. I can't agree that Hamilton has shown any killer instinct in the past two seasons: the first year he threw the title away and Kimi laughed all the way to the bar and last year Massa kept himhonest all the way. Alonso, on the other hand, is STILL head, shoulders, knees and toes above all the other shit on the grid. Button deserves the title because in a car that has become less than super-competitive (Hamilton had a car that was better than any other for 2 years), in a team with less budget than others he has kept his head on a Sunday and bought the car home. Imagine the tension he feels each weekend, knowing he has lead the title race all season and could STILL bin it before the end of the year; his team mate can just get on and drive: no-one expected him to win at the half-way stage; his main (only) other rival is now in a position whereby his team-mate has to support his title efforts because Webber can't win the title and the saving grace is that the guy with the best package at the end of the year is a Brit and so much faster than anyone else that Jenson can play the numbers game à la Alain Prost If he wins the title it will be a lesson in how it should be done: get a shed load of wins under your belt then stay in the race for the rest of the year. If Button takes the title with a season-final-race win (or a mathematical title-win with a victory) it would be the best title year for some time.
