Found an 06 plate with 28k for £10995 whcih looked cheap to me so I went for a drive.
Have to say very impressed with the level of kit offered, this car had everything sat, nav, elec heated seats, one of those long sunroofs etc etc.
Anyway quality of the interiro was a nice suprise, much improved over what I remember of my forestor, especially impressed with the leather seats.
Although not up to Audi quality it was impressive and as good as I have sen from a japanese car bar lexus.
On the road the car was very smooth with good accurate steering and very smooth engine.Handling seemed very good ,but time limits meant I could not really explore that avenue.
I could only find 2 faults, one was that he brakes were  not good, press and then press harder before anyting happened (though that might just be due to pad wear) and really annoyingly the passenger seat was making a dreadful squeaking noise the whole journey,I think it was from the leather moving back and forth against the area where the hand brake is.
Overall very impressed and I am going to drive a touareg in the next day or so (time permitting) and make my mind up about replacing the xc90
