I'd be a bit more concerned with them still thinking it's a 2.2. Makes me think the DVLA don't know of the engine swap. Shame there's no reg plate to check against.

Yeah that's with Tom Hartley. I'd sooner buy a car from the Taliban.

And +1 to Bob's comment on the KaVeyron

The search was for Lincoln as Wheeler Dealers were doing up an old Lincoln Continental.

Next one: How much just because it was in Top Gear Mag ???:

I really don't believe a word of the advert:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/class...ars&make=datsun&logcode=p

The interior looks as though a wet dog has been sleeping in there for years, the fuel filler is missing the rubber grommets in the body to stop the flap rubbing he paint, the filler cap has been given a quick spray of silver without any preparation, the flap looks as though the hidden rust may release it in the very near future, there is no engine under tray and the paintwork looks as though it has just come out the paint shop (hopefully to be sold before the rust appears again). The rear bumper also looks like it has seen a bit of action and was perfectly painted without being straightened first.

I think the 240Z was the first time I really became aware of the Japanese car industry, despite Hondas presence in Grand Prix etc. I reckon I must have been about 11 or 12 at the time, and I can vividly remember my dad telling me it was "just a flash in the pan".

My last boss opened a Colt dealership (in Kirriemuir of all places I believe   ) in the '70s and got laughed at.
I don't think it did his bank balance any harm.

Even more bizarre is the location - Middlesbrough - it's worth more than the whole streets!

Didn't realise these things existed for real, somebody in town had one and I just assumed the badge was created as an extension of a DIY lash-up body kit

But, apart from all that though . . . . .

As a car I have always loved the 240Z and 260Z. The Japanese really moved the game on when they introduced it and it's a shame they seem to have slipped back a bit from those days

I think the 240Z was the first time I really became aware of the Japanese car industry, despite Hondas presence in Grand Prix etc. I reckon I must have been about 11 or 12 at the time, and I can vividly remember my dad telling me it was "just a flash in the pan".

How wrong he was, eh?

Same here. I was a bit younger than that - maybe 4 or 5 - but I can just about recall seeing it in the Datsun showroom when my dad was buying a Violet. Ha! I actually laughed out loud remembering that!!

I know French cars have a poor reputation for build quality but I don't think drawing attention to it in the advert is such a good idea...

Isn't that what Blarno is building? Love the Ferrari sticker on the gear stick. What were you looking for to find that?

It's just my AT game (stick a price in and see what you can get) - the Bentley above is from the same game. Blarno is going to make his MX5 look like a 1993 Nissan Primera GSX.
