Excellent news...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/free-legends-dlc-at-forza-3-launch

A free Motorsports Legends Car Pack.

'65 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA
'64 Aston Martin DB5 Vantage
'81 BMW M1
'60 Chevrolet Corvette
'69 Dodge Charger
'57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
'80 Fiat 131 Abarth
'67 Lamborghini Miura P400
71 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R
'65 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe.

And new tracks :-

Benchmark High Speed Ring - a converted airfield and hangar (an "automotive playground") - and the Sidewinder Proving Grounds.

Maybe they missed the QA before the game went "gold"?

I hope it works.
I got a free download thing with Call Of Duty 4. Just enter the 10 million digit code and go to Marketplace it said.
Did that and it politely told me to fuck off

Someone i know had their Racing Puma photographed and laser measured for a game.  It was GT5 though, which will probably never come out.

Heh, the 131 mystery is solved. It has already been pictured in shots of the menu, but the other day a video claimed only 1 FIAT available, which is the Abarth 500 EsseEsse.

Bloody hell, the recognition the Forza series deserves. Two weeks this midnight, I'll be queueing at Game to get it. I've never considered such a feat seriously, but for this game I'll make the exception. I just have to have the Limited Collector's Edition.

I've managed to put up some decent times on Forza 3 demo now.

I was surprised how quickly I got used to manual gearchanging and how much quicker the times are despite me actually making more mistakes in that mode.

Maybe it's just a side effect of that particular track.

I noticed this afternoon that I had been demoted...

What do you think of Forza3 compared to Forza2?  Or NFS Shift for that matter...

The graphics are certainly a step forward but other wise, on the basis of the limited cars/track available, the vehicle dynamics feel pretty much the same.
That's not a criticism at all though.
I just hope the adjustability available with the suspension/gearbox/aero upgrades are still the same though.

Not played NFS since, I think, Underground.
It was always quite 'arcadey' and the ideal driving game for my non-driving (in real life) mates.

Who else on here is on XBox Live?
I'll have to get them listed as friends soI can compare times.

Well I got a 1:02.045 (but only on the Time trial mode, NOT the race, so the scores didn't upload)...

Is this a bug, or are all you times set on the race?

Hehe...  I was OK with you "youngsters" beating me, but TimR was the final straw...

Has BeN not had a go at this yet?

There must be a few more 360 owners on here!

None of this modern muck! This week, I are been mostly playing Doom.....

Albeit updated with Doomsday engine, hi-res textures and 3d models.

And interweb-based multiplayer action.

Played 4 races last night, its superb, very similar to 2 but just updated.

One grumble though is the career mode seems cluttered and over complicated.  Similar to PGR 4, you have a calender with races on certain days, i came second in a race and wanted to go back and get first, but it seemed that i couldnt go back as the date had passed.  I was pushed for time though but will have a better look tonight to see if you can go back

Well I ordered it from GAME, theyre normally a day early on the release date, but due to the postal strike they emailed me on sunday saying they were sending it out early to be sure.  Bit daft really but cant complain.

Yes figured it out a bit better last night.  You can slect the competions in a big grid if you go out of career play, its called something like 'event select' i cant remember.

Got my Citroen C4 fully pimped out last night, dragged it from an E class to A, dominating the first sets of races now.

The achivements seem much better this time, if your an achiement whore like me you will be pleased to know getting the full 1000 doesnt look impossible like the past game.

I've given up worrying about achievement points.

I've completed a few games and managed to do so while compiling less than 200 points.

Having had a look at some achievements required there's no way I'm gonna be able to get all points as an increasing number appear to only be achievable in open play online and, in my experience, that means competing against Americans with their far superior connection speeds. I can't be bothered banging my head against that particular brick wall

Yes not out till tommorow.  Special edition is very pricey but you get alot of stuff, the second disc has 6 gigs worth of tracks and cars, then i got the legends pack included which is another few cars and tracks and then some more bonus stuff again including an M5 and R8.

Much of my score comes from when i lived at my mum and dads and had alot more time to myself.  Now i have less time but try and play each game right to the end, getting as much as i can out of each one.

Looks like I'll have to make a special trip tomorrow to get it then.
Oh what a pity

I presume the extra cars/tracks are available to mere mortals who don't buy the special edition?

This is what i got

Quote:
The Forza 3 Limited Edition comes with:

   * Forza Motorsport 2GB USB Storage and keychain.
   * Forza Motorsport VIP Membership* and Exclusive Car Pack: Includes special treatment within the online Auction House, Community Storefront and on the Forzamotorsport.net forums, plus 5 of the hottest cars from the roster of Forza Motorsport 3.
   * Exclusive Collector’s Edition Car Pack: Includes 5 cars that have been hand tuned and hand painted by the developers at Turn 10 to fly the Forza Motorsport colours.
   * Exclusive Forza Motorsport 3 Theme: for customising your Dashboard!

Plus as i pre-ordered it from game you also get a R8 and M3, but thats stopped now as you cant pre-order it.

The highlighted exclusives lead me to believe you cant download them unless you buy the special edition.

To celebrate the launch of Forza 3 this Friday, Microsoft plans to tear around the streets of London in a bright red Ferrari.

Spot it, take a picture and upload it to Facebook or Twitter (tag #forzasupercar) to win some goodies. Prizes range from copies of the game right up to Xbox 360 Elite consoles.

The press release doesn't mention exactly what model the Ferrari is, but it doesn't look like a 458, which is a little disappointing. Incidentally, the red stallion will be branded with Forza III stickers and Microsoft logos, so you shouldn't be able to miss it.

Race over to our Forza Motorsport 3 review for a full, under-the-hood analysis.

I can't imagine them being able to 'tear round' the streets of London
.

Maybe they should've said 'anyone who photographs it sitting in a traffic jam' will get free goodies

From what I've seen of videos, the LCE cars (Scud, GT3 RS, Super-Leggy et al) are in all versions, but locked to non-limited owners. Fair chance they'll be DLC un-lockable in a few months.

I'm getting it from Morrisons in the morning (standard copy, as they don't have the LCE).

I was there bang on 8 to get mine. They're selling it for £39.99 (I bought it with Pro Evo which is £33.99 and got both for £66 after discount).

I've recreated my XR2 photoshop with my starter Fiesta. Shame I can't upload pictures and access them as the Forza site has suddenly stopped supporting Mac.   An issue I sure hope they fix, even if I have to use my Dad's newer one.

I'll be wandering along to Dundee this afternoon to get it out of Tesco or Game or Gamestation (gotta cover all my options).

I have a feeling it should be £34.99 in Tesco?

As long as it's not full price and they've got some that'll do me.
