| I seem to recall that those Pininfarina Austin-Morris concepts were taken up by Citroen, after BL rejected them, to create what became the GS and CX. |

Surely no manufacturer has been as consistent as Renault with the quality of their concepts over the past 15 years or so. They have also managed to make concepts which appear to be irrelevant musings of the designers pencil but which also prove to show future design direction.
My all time favourite concept is also one of the most recent, I have never seen a car as beautiful and fascinating as the Mazda Furai, it's absolutely breath-taking (IMO!). |

Thanks Dan.
I saw the Furai at Goodwood in the Supercar paddock, sat a few cars down from 3 Veyrons. The Veyrons might as well have been Vectras parked so near to the Mazda, all day the crowd was two or three deep around it while the Veyrons were given very little attention.
The other concepts of the Nagare series are interesting but nowhere near as cohesive. It saiys in Autocar this week that the designer of the Furai has left Mazda to go to Tesla. Bad news for my hopes of a model range of mazdas based on it! |

Yet more great stuff there - notably the Lotuses and that amazing pickup. And I find all the Nagare series brilliant.
Oddly enough, I'm entirely unmoved by the Audi Nuvolari - I actually prefer the A5. |

I was going to post the pick-up months ago, but thought I'd get the usual ribbing! It took me ages to track it down again and fits in this thread beautifully.

Surprised there's been no mention of this... Remember the press soiling their strides over it at the time? Now I'm not so sure, but the interior still looks fairly special..
