That is one seriously well sorted car. Immense under braking, phenomenal acceleration and despite a bit of understeer, still very rapid through the corners. I see no-one mentions what it cost.

My eldest has a bit of a thing for the Tesla and showed me this clip at the weekend.

A drag race against an M4, which needs the limiter to kick in to get past

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uki71gN7ahc

Even adding more power and matching its 4WD doesn't get close to its step off performance!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrUskqXAUww

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4CnSS4OG4A

So if you find yourself at the lights alongside a P85D, a McLaren 650S is what you'll need.

I believe the Ferrari driver was one of the Al Thani family who rule Qatar. Both he and the car left the country before he could be interviewed by police. Claimed diplomatic immunity.

I know Suzuka is a 'figure of 8' track but maybe F1 needs one like this to liven things up?

That's fantastic and just reminds me what I miss about much of the racing these days - real commitment and cars that move around under the driver all the time.

Unbelievable but we all know that the PC brigade have too much power allied to zero common sense: they will destroy us all if allowed and then blame it on someone else.

That is pretty special. Just from the initial timed laps it was obvious that the Porsche turned in so much better, the McLaren had real traction problems and the Ferrari was a handful with lots of missed apexes but massive speed and brakes.

I thought the Porsche sounded good until I heard the Ferrari but I don't think anyone would say no to any of them.

And to think I used to race Marino in Karts and could beat him - he complained about me in one race when I finally punted him out the way because he was braking too early. Needless to say I had no idea he was my future wife's 2nd cousin - doesn't buy any favours unfortunately (or any contact).

But it was a McLaren Honda; which are V6 turbos, could the better sound have been dubbed in?!

That really is mental. Porsche driver knew how to drive though but on the public road, that is mad. Had the Porsche done something to upset the biker?
I dare say that a public video like that will create some problems for someone!

I think I read somewhere that the driver was arrested at the time.  He also clipped the 106 as he forced his way through.

This popped up from the Top Gear site earlier. Mark Higgins' TT lap Record as set in a specially built Subaru WRX STi a few weeks ago.

And he reckons there are a fair few places to claw back a few hundredths here, couple of tenths there. Love to be sitting in the passenger seat for that!!

Some bits of that I reckon I matched him for top speed on my ZX636R. The bike topped out at around 150 or so though, so his 170+ mph sections were a bit beyond me.

(Couldn't do it now mind; too fat, old and slow!)
