Only Alfa could make the whole range that appealing, that's for sure.

I was just stopped by an elderly lady outside my Mum's house, informing me that my car was beautiful! I was a little taken aback, and could only muster a pathetic 'Thank you'.

Now your Z1 has the second pair of exhausts, where does the towing eye go? On the model I received the other day, it nestles in the right hand cove.

Don't be too sure - Nick will confirm I'm sure, but apparently it's returning 25mpg, which is astonishingly good for the performance on offer.

Good question - I've no idea. I hadn't really concerned myself with it since I really wasn't intending to ever tow anyone. And, well, should I be so daft as to put the car in a position where it needs to be towed backwards (there's still a front towing eye), then that's my silly fault and I suppose we'll have to find another solution.

I wonder if a lack of a rear tow point is an MOT failure?

Apparently not. That exhaust is no spring chicken - I think it's been on the car for possibly as long as 10 years as I think the car already had it when it was imported in 1997.

I saw a GT3 the other day that looked exactly like Nick's, except with orange alloys. It looked hideous.

Thank god you didn't go for that option Nick.

Charmed, Michael, I'm sure.

My colour's 549 Bleu Illiade. Not sure if Blarno's is the same, but it's a colour option for the Clio. I guess it might be.

I think the French names for colours are different aren't they?

I know my Megane was Inferno in English but Orange Sanguine in French.

Yes, mine's simply Illiade in English, I think. Orange Sanguine sounds nice. Like Cherry Circumspect, Fuscia Fecund or Pomegranate Pensive.

Orange sanguine is, I believe, French for 'blood orange'. I don't know about 'illiade' it's not in the dictionary, though one might suppose it had something to do with Homer.

Illiade is more or less the same in French or English - meaning an epic poem or very long narrative. Usually spelled iliad, I think.

But it's not just a car. It's a French 'we love being French, fuck making money' display of exuberance. In that case, Illiade bleu is more than fitting.

Now if only BMW could do this more often and fuck profits, but remember the true fans. Harumph.
