Apparently Russian TV has been showing pictures of "sad European farmers" devastated by the effect of Russia's righteous sanctions regime against their products.

As such all Russians are being encouraged to gruyere their own produce and feta their consumption of evil foreign muck...

Only on the beeb, today of all days:
The Jeremy Vine show (I know...)

What should we do with the RAF? Should we leave it as it is, scrap it all together or merge it with the army?

and

If you live in a scenic part of the UK – do you love it or hate it when low-flying military jets carry out training missions just over your head?

Q2 is obviously too stupid.
Q1, however is a good question. I have said for ages that the rotary wing side should go to the Army and the fixed wing side to the Navy. Apparantly the last time an RAF aircraft shot down an enemy aircraft was 1948. Any more recent kills have been by Navy warships, Fleet Air Arm aircraft or Army air-defence.

I didn't know that Aer Lingus charge so much for in-flight food that someone took to trying to eat one of their fellow passengers ;-(

Reading both articles I have no idea what went on. A woman was arrested in connection with the death (did she tie him up then?), but that the man who died had bitten another passenger or maybe two other passengers. Oh and the woman arrested was carrying drugs. And that the police questioned all the passengers.

Sounds like an Agatha Christie novel plot.

The man who died was apparently biting those trying to restrain him. Sounds to me like he was off his tits on something, went mad, had to be restrained and put up a massive fight and I suspect that the combination of whatever he was on plus all that exertion  a used a heart attack or he suffocated whilst being held down - which is positional asphyxia and something the police have to be extremely mindful of when restraining violent people.

But now, two years later, he decided to have the tattoo removed after he was confronted by someone in a pub who made fun of the tattoo.

Speaking to the Evening Post, he said: “The next morning I really started to think about what my family and friends thought.

“I didn’t want them to be embarrassed when they were out with me, so I decided there and then I was going to get it removed.”

Does his brain work at a very slow rate? It took him two years to decide that looked a bit stupid? FFS!

I can't help thinking that story is made up. I don't get why even the most desperate publicity hunter would go to the papers with that subject. Plus the bollocks about having had some drinks the night before and not wanting to drive so they called an ambulance? (Although how about using a taxi instead of using an ambulance as a taxi. Oh yeah, it's "free".)
Then at hospital the operation lasted 1 and a half minutes? And that operation also included putting a camera down her throat? Er, why do a gastroscopy when the offending item is up her rectum? It's a hilarious story but I call bullshit.

I think that stems from the mind of someone who spends their every waking moment (and probably most of the sleeping ones) thinking up new ways to hate cars.

I liked this: "The company has promised that nobody will be killed or seriously injured in Volvos sold from 2020 onwards"

Doesn't make any attempt to stop these maniac Volvos killing us on the outside.....

Driverless cars v the British sense of humour  / love of knocking people down a peg or three  = we're bound to try and bully then and cause them to have accidents......

I'll add this one to this thread:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/a...eduled-200-locations-network.html

A great journalistic story about how Network Rail have set out to pour misery over millions of rail travellers during the festive period whilst kindly ignoring the fact that this is actually the least disruptive time to plan in 200 pieces of essential maintenance. Would they rather it be planned for a Monday morning rush hour?
