I guess it depends on circumstances - I get 28mpg on fast (you know how fast) motorway runs, over 30 at 70ish and low 20's around town or flooring it on the back roads.

I think the RX8 does low 20's at best?

This is called Dieselcarforum though

Theyre RWD?  Hmm, serious advantage in its favour, never drove RWD apart from a bit in my dads mercs, and a couple of transits.

Spend 200 quid on a Sierra and learn RWD before you get a 200+ Bhp RWD car...

That'll be far more oversteer than you'll get out of an RX8 on fat tyres with traction control

Oh yes.

I had a few 'moments' including one on a tight corner on a, thankfully quiet, country road where I ended up with the front wheels on the verge and the nose of the car about 2 inches from a large stone wall.

I proceeded home at a slow pace after that one

It depends of your "take" on the technicalities, there are two rotors in tandem, each rotor has a capacity of 640cc.  The Wankel engine can generate one power impulse per central shaft rotation: a normal (Otto cycle) piston engine generates one-half of a power impulse per cylinder per crankshaft rotation.  So you could argue (as do the DVLA for example) that its cc is actually 640cc X 2 rotors X 2 (due to it 'firing' twice as often) so 2.56 litres!

[shamelessly stolen from my post on another thread]

The 3.5 V6 in the 350Z has over 200lb ft of torques and as high as about 280 in the last-of-the-line models that received the bonnet bulge and LED tails.

EDIT: I see 'hims' reply was to Blarno not Tim

Seems like a car with character.  Rarer, cheaper and faster than a mini.

Not sure it would be faster - I only drove a Mk1 S when they first came out and the RX8 a few years later so hard to remember, but I think you may find the Mini would be faster in most real world situations.
Having said that the Mazda is a lot smoother and offers a more balanced feel to the handing.
They're so different - in both drawbacks as well as advantages, I think you'd be best to get yourself a drive in each before deciding to go for one or the other.

Try group 19 and an import  That equals £750.

If the GTA had been a UK car it would only cost £350 -£400.

Insurance groups ain't necessarily as bad as they seem.

Go for the RX8 before they make it illegal.

Mine spits flames from the exhaust sometimes, does that count as "emissions"?

Surely that's reduced emissions? Burning off all the unburnt fuel...

Flames are good.

Flames should be compulsory and available in a special Prious overtaking mode, along with corrosive soot emissions.

My Mi16 was ace for flames. I overtook a mate on a bypass in 3rd gear at full chat and he says 2 quality flames popped out when I changed up.

I can do filthy black soot from the Coupe but the best ever was my Shogun diesel.

If I had a tailgater I could make his whole car disappear

I don't get any flames from mine but i think this mountune conversion adds rice crispies to my exhaust as it now crackles and pops, no snapping though.
