You listen to what?Found out the other day that my almost-16 year old daughter eschews TV (and her iPod) whilst at home, instead listening to ...........
......Kerrang! Radio.
Now I realise we never get to know everything about our kids' tastes and activities, but that surprised me mightily for some reason. (Dunno why, she's never really been a "girly" girl 'til recently)
Anything your kids/relatives get up to that came as a bit of a shock?

Mrs PG's 17 year old nephew is into Led Zeppelin. A lot of his friends are into 70's heavy rock bands.
And my 30 year old nephew has worked for a large cigarette company since he left college. He doesn't smoke, never has and yet amongst other jobs ion sales and marketing has worked on "emerging markets" in a "market development" role (ie getting 16 year old Vietnamese into smoking their brand). Weird.

One of my mates gave me a copy of a Jerry Reed* album.
I'll remind him of this when we're at the Motorhead gig next month.
*Jerry Reed was 'Snowman' in Smokey & The Bandit and is a country & western singer.

When I was a yoof there was a bloke who used to come in the local pub and he often had a cassette walkman on. People sometimes used to ask him what he was listening to as it was nearly always something weird. Once it was a recording of his narrow boat engine as he thought it had a slight and occasional misfire and another time he'd bought some blank tapes at a car boot and was listening to them to make sure they were blank!

My Dad, a 60 year old Postman, listens to Marilyn Manson and Rammstein...
Which is great, because he buys the albums and I get to listen to them and see if they're any good before purchasing them myself.
I'm trying to convert him to Alice In Chains at the moment.
I've had my Mum listening to Metallica (Of a fashion. Her favourite instrument is the cello, so I lent her Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos and she loved it!)

My 18-yr-old son's, like, the biggest Aerosmith fan. He's also a walking encyclopedia on all things Steve Tyler and Aerosmith.

So he'll be able to tell us if it's true that Steve Tyler's in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest mouth of any human in the known world ever?

Yes Tim, probably!
He'll tell you the exact date and location of the gig where Tyler fell off the stage, landing himself in hospital. And such like. (He was probably wasted, and 'missed' the crowd whilst attempting a stage dive!)

Lucky man. I wonder what Hendrix would be playing like today had he lived? I expect he's be a sort of Claptonesque guitar supremo, mellowing into the blues. Hendrix was a fantastic blues player and he would only have got better.

My mum and dad went to see the Beatles in what is now a bingo hall in Slough. There was another really cool place in Windsor called the Ricky Tick and loads of sixties bands played there. Stones, Animals, original good Fleetwood Mac etc. Place burnt down unfortunately.
