Which photo would look best on the wall?

I have a voucher to turn one of my pics into a large canvass print for the wall, and can't decide which one to go for:

Published on here before - maybe better as a print in a book rather than a big pic on a wall?

Or this one:

Lastly, this one:

Sorry - couldn't work out how to make a poll!

The first one.

+1 If it's a good quality job (Ie not one of the dodgy places that seem to have popped up in all shopping centres) it will look amazing.

I, too, would choose the first picture. The quality of the image will, obviously, depend on the size of the print and the resolution of the original (i.e. megapixels). From a paper publishing point of view, I believe that an A4 page can be satisfactorily made from a 1 Mpixel file, so you'll need to quadruple the file size for an A2 print.

Much as I love the first one, I'd have Number 3 personally.

In fact I'd go so far as to say that No. 3 is the only one that will look really good as a canvas; the others are much more suited to a smaller size of frame IMHO.

I like number two, number three would be fantastic as a big bold wallpaper design on one feature wall in the lounge.

I'd say number 3 as well, depending on the background of the wall.
..

One or Three for me.

Number two looks interesting but on my screen it looks like the foreground is slightly out of focus / the depth of field.

I think number three would probably get the most attention and positive comment from people seeing it.

My thoughts exactly

Depends somewhat on the rest of your decor however.

The third one, with the decor-related caveat mentioned above.  Properly stunning.  Although I like the first one a lot - it has a slightly nostalgic quality to it, if that doesn't sound too silly - you'd almost expect to see a 1950's steam train clanking into shot.

Disagree. I've commissioned two canvases, one a (relatively) fairly close shot of horse and rider, the other a long shot of a Sound in New Zealand. Both looked good but the later looked fabulous, but as I said it depends on the quality of job done. If done the right the first picture, and in particular the water, will look brilliant.

The canvas has been ordered using the 3rd shot.

However, if the company do a good enough job, I may well get the first pic done on one too, as I really love the way that photo turned out. It was a simply beautiful weekend in September this year - such a contrast to the weather we've had recently!
