When a 747 eats a few too many in flight meals

I'd be tempted to be one of those people going to see his. How sad eh?!

This comes to East Midlands now and again, along with the smaller 125
Frank Bullitt

Yes, it's bloody huge!
Martin

I've not seen one and would be tempted to go and see it, whether that's sad or not.
Michael

I think I saw that at the Farnborough air show years ago.

The 125 regularly flies out of East Midlands over where I live and has a very distinctive drone. The 225 I saw last year as it came overhead - probably at around 10 - 12,000 feet by that point - but it is huge and chucks out a fair bit of smoke.

I was going to say that it's obvious that eco concerns don't really apply with those engines!

So I don't have to go to Australia to see it? Shame

Wasn't there only one of them built?

Ah, it was 2014, not last year when I saw it fly overhead,  then. It was the noise that made me stop talking to my neighbour and look up. Incredible sight.

I wonder why on earth it needed a tail like that???? Massive!

Carrying a shuttle or similar space vehicle?
Michael

I'd have thought it makes it more stable. You'd need a massive rudder on the thing otherwise.
Michael

My mother is in Perth airport now flying back to the UK. Apparently when it landed there were 6,000 people who'd come along to watch. Led to 4 hour tailbacks on the highway leading to the airport and people bailing out of cabs with luggage to run the last few kilometres with luggage in order to make their flight. Apparently the 'plane is, "quite big".
