Volvo XC60

I assume there is a new one coming as I've just received an email from our local emporium advertising the XC60 D4 SE for 249 per month over 4 years and 10kpa with 1,494 down on contract hire - as a family bus that strikes me as especially good value.

10458 over 4 yrs, not bad. I don't think there is a new one due for a while though. I guess it is getting on a bit though so time for some deals.

It would be stellar, but even at 13,446 I make that exceptional value!

I got the same e-mail and thought it looked really good. I suppose you might have to delve deeper to determine how much the other essential extras might cost but the base price is attractive and very competitive.

I won't be telling Mrs R about this...

Caught out by the non standard 4 yr deal.

I'm not so sure I think that's such great value at 13,446 compared to a used one, especially with a 10K limit. Certainly I'd be buying what I've just bought over an XC60 at that total cost, and I'm sure toy count will be higher overall.

Obviously I wasn't aware of the facelift but it's just what the XC60 needs, it still looks good overall as a shape but it's the interior that's dated now, especially with the small nav screen. Indeed it's that which put me off an XC60 as I thought it was going to feel too dated too quickly.

With an XC90 inspired interior it could be close to top of the class.

Interestingly Clarkson and May commented that Volvo now do the best interiors bar Bentley, having sat in an XC90 before Christmas I'd agree with them.

Having driven two XC90s I wouldn't agree. The XC60 isn't a facelift it's an all new platform.

I would seriously hope so, the XC60 has already had one significant facelift in its long life-cycle

New XC60 is a new platform. Rumours are that Volvo are looking to get it out before the end of this year, maybe for September time. Only downside is the dropping of the 5 cylinder deisel engine.
Mine is due to go back in April, but I might see if I can extend for 6 months if the new one does arrive in Autumn.

Volvo have a totally 4 cylinder future ahead.

If the XC90 and S/V90 styling are anything to go by, the next gen S40/V60/XC60 really ought to be very nice. I certainly hope they will be up at the top end of their respective classes - potential V60 replacement! Well, that or a full-on Polestar V60.
