Volunteering

I've noticed an advert placed by the Vodafone Foundation on Facebook this morning, whereby they'll pay 8 lucky applicants for a year to make a difference in a charity of their choice and I've decided it's the right time for me to go for opportunities such as these.

I've been trying to find photographic charities on Google and only done a basic search, but I've already found Photographers Without Borders - where you can donate photographs and retain copyright - and some useful advice.

I've posted this as I was wondering if any of us have experience of any kind with this kind of thing or any worldwide causes which might be worth getting in contact with to let them know my intentions for the Vodafone Foundation.

The closing date is 30th July, so it gives me a month to find and try and organise something. Even if it doesn't pan out, finding charities I could perhaps volunteer for in the UK with my spare time will be a reward itself.
woof woof

I've not heard of this so I'll have a Google later.

All I wanted to say is that if you want to do some good you'll have to keep trying and not give up.

Years ago I went through a phase of volunteering for things, lots of things, but although charities wanted my money they had no interest at all in accepting me as a volunteer. I thought I had time and some skills to offer but they all just fobbed me off. The charities back then just seemed like a closed shop. I just gave up attempting to volunteer in the end. I hope that you have more success.
