Vettell in "surprised Hamilton is a racer" shocker

This occurred to me, that it was a tad risky:

But are we surprised? Would Senna, or Schumacher, (or Raikonnem, Hakkinen, Mansell and many other world champions) have fannied about waiting for a health and safety inspection before passing? I think not. He got a great exit and he went for it. He knew he was taking a quality driver and trusted him not to put him in the wall.

I'm not surprised at all, I expected him to take the first half chance!  As you say, that sort of move is lower risk with a driver like Vettel, especially when he (Vettel) is going to be more than happy with a podium.

When you have a rhythm and you are on it, you have to take the chances: that's what the sport is about.
The question now is has Lewis broken Nico or is Nico leaving it till the last race to snatch victory with a double points finish?

The closer we get to the end of the season the more the double points thing is bugging me.

It seems wrong that we've got so many close battles (drivers and constructors) through the whole field, and yet a freak result could wipe out a hard fought for points gap.

I agree and rather than affecting those at the front, it could actually end up skewing the final standings for some of the mid field teams.

A DNF for both Mercedes at the next race and a win for Ricciardo sets it up nicely for the rest of the season! I'm no fan of this type of artificiality in sport, but as I don't really car who wins, and if this means 3 or 4 drivers are in with a shot at the last race, it will at least will be one I can stay awake for!
