Twelfth Monkey

Utter, utter bollocks.

P16:

'The Beautiful ice white Volvo C70.

You start parking so you can see it from your bedroom window.  You're tempted to hop over the door instead of opening it.  Your friends seem to need a lot more lifts.  Your back seats have never been so popular.  You park for a picnic and stare at the 18" alloys instead of the view.  You take the roof down.  Then put it back up again.  Then down, then up again, then down again.  You talk constantly about the £2,350 worth of stylish extras you got for free.  Sometimes even to strangers.  We call it the C70 effect.'

I, however, call it bollocks.
Blarno

I concur.

Of course it's bollocks. It's an advert.
Twelfth Monkey

You must admit though Dave, it's something of a piece of outstanding bollocks; the gap between reality and the imaginings of the copywriter is of Grand Canyon proportions!  My view on advertising in general is the same as yours.
Guitar Zero

£24995 is the price of the miserable 136 bhp 4 pot diesel  - not a suitably interesting and poke worthy 5 banger.

Shame - you could do lots with the C70 - starting with a fixed roof, interior upgrade and a few months at the Ford finishing school for suspension and calibration.

It's got competition in the World Of Bollocks from the Peugeot 207 ad, which has the conjoined non-word 'DRIVESEXY' next to a photo of the product.  I haven't seen a less congruous juxtaposition in quite some time.
Twelfth Monkey

Is that the blather about 'meeting eyes' with a stranger?  Cobblers of epic proportions, doubly so as the car in question turns more stomachs than heads.
boc70

Possibly the same campaign, although this was a magazine / billboard ad with one uncomfortably created word and one uncomfortably created car (so I suppose there is a match).  Haven't come across the other bit you mention, although I can imagine...
