Top 5 guitarists and bassists

Girly skinny 6 strings:

Vernon Reid
Robert Cray
Matt Bellamy
Jimmy Page
Tom Morello

4 String Dullards

Peter Hook
Norwood Fisher
Flea
JJ Burnell
John Entwhistle
Matt

No argument with number 3 on that list of six-stringers. It astounds me how many good B-sides and rarities Muse have, including a UK take on RatM featuring Mike Skinner of the Streets, which is not as bad as some would expect. Well, I like the Streets, so maybe I'm not the one to listen to!

In no particular order...

GUITAR
Frank Zappa
Lewis Taylor
Adrian Belew
Bert Jansch
Tal Farlow

BASS
Jaco Pastorius
Jeff Berlin
James Jamerson
Norman Watt-Roy
Darryl Jones
Blarno

Posting a top 5 in either is hard for me:

Guitar, in terms of awesome riff-ness:
Dimebag Darrell
Jerry Cantrell
Tom Morello
James Hetfield
Tony Iommi

Bass:
Flea
Muzz Skillings
Cliff Burton
Bill Gould
Lemmy

I know - I found it very hard to keep bassists down to just 5 - Billy Gould and Jeff Ament were hard to omit

Me or Darth?
Stuntman

You (especially if it gets me a passenger ride in the Bauble-laden VW Kaefer...)

Have you taken it on track yet?  I haven't done a trackday for 9 months and I feel that I need to scratch that itch.  It'd be great if we were at the same event...
Blarno

Just remember if you do Oulton, let me know!
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

If I do one this summer it's going to be the Lausitzring or Nurburgring
Stuntman

Deffo, Blarno.  I have unfinished business with Oulton because I didn't really gel with the circuit last time.  I'll keep the PASM in Normal if I go there again.

Easytrack have a full day at Oulton on Weds 1st Oct for £169, or on Friday 21 Nov for £129.

Tempted?

Other tempting trackdays:

Pembrey - Sat 20 Sep, £159, motorsport-events.com

Anglesey Coastal - Sat 25 Oct £160, Sun 16 Nov £145 - both with Bookatrack.

Donington National - Fri 12 Sep £250, Wed 8 Oct £250 - both with Bookatrack.

Castle Combe - Sat 15 Nov £129 - Easytrack; Sat 6 Dec £160 - Bookatrack.
Blarno

21st November sounds good. I could book that this month with my bonus!

I'd have seriously considered this one, but it clashes with MPH08, I think. Trouble with working abroad is I can only really do weekend ones.
