Today, I am mostly wanting this... Bike versionI've wanted one of these for SOOOOOO long. It's a pretty special bike - read the description and even those not bike-minded will understand my desire for this, I'm sure. I mean, just look at it... how beautiful...?
Fingers crossed the reserve's not too high, as I'm totally in the market for this

As you know I'm not a bike sort but that's rather nice. It look immaculate! Will it fit in the boot of the 'time or are you planning to drive it to LDN?

Another bike?! Is that what you got the garage for.....just to fill with bikes?
Not my cup of tea...trailies....just don't do it for me. You're other two however...now they really float my boat.

Yes - I figure I have room for four, pretty comfortably. My GSX1400 was written off with a value of £4000. The Blackbird set me back only £3100, so I have about grand to play with, plus a bit extra if need be. I really want something I can use in winter, leaving the FireBlade laid up til spring and the Blackbird for long-distance if need be.
Of course, I've been looking for a hack - maybe a Yamaha XT600 Tenere that I don't need to worry about too much. Then I saw the XLV750R and am pretty smitten.
Next stop Bimota 500 V-Due Evoluzione, like this...
But this is a far-off dream. At about £10k and virtually unusable (35 miles on a tank of fuel!) I may have to wait quite a bit longer. Oh, and I can have a Citroen SM for that money.... but that's going to have to wait until I get another garage - some way off, I expect.

I love trailies. A mate had one, can't remember exactly what, but it had a 600cc single. Sounded like a hammer in a washing machine. I never got a chance to have a go on it, as one of his other mates rode it into a wall. Muppet!

Thing is though kraft, would you really want to ride the XLV through all the salt and crap of winter?
Tenere or similar would be so much more appropriately expendable!!

Wasn't that Evel Kenievel's (sp??) bike?

Yes. To think he chucked that thing through the air when Eddie Kidd was using a light-as-a-feather, two-stroke 'single'... it's amazing, really.

Nothing wrong with that!
They were £25,000 new or something like that if I recall correctly. I remember reading the road test in Superbike when they came out and the tester saying it was surreal riding it, particularly under braking as it didn't dive like a normal bike.
The instrument panel is so 80's though, very Knight rider!

There was a dull gray one without the yellow listed at £2.9k on Google yesterday, but I assume the ad was on old one.

Just about the hottest bike I have ever seen...

Yeah, I suppose it's not bad. It's what's under the skin that's really exciting, though. I can't help thinking that the NR750 still pisses all over it in just about every way, despite being from a decade-or-so earlier, and the irony of Ducati having done what Honda never did (winning a GP title with s V4 motor) is not lost on me.

That was my hottest-looking bike before I saw that Ducati, natch.
I bought BIKE mag the other week when my Nan was up the hospital. A bit dry, though.

The NR was launched in 1992! Time flies!
The Desmo is a gorgeous bike but the most stunning part is the price £42 000!!!! You could have 5 Gixxer Thou's for that price and still have change!!

You're a heathen.
Two-stroke 500cc V-twin; genuine GP-bike-for-the-road. It has, for about 12 years, been my dream bike. I will have one some day, when my wife is earning daft money. She knows all about it, of course.

Giant: you're a heathen.
2-strokes are PROPER bikes. Funny: a collague and I were debating the merits of buying a shagged out RGV/NSR/TZR 250 and rebuilding it as a plaything only yesterday. Note the absence of the KR1-S: they be ugly.
To reiterate: Giant, you're a heathen.

Blue, buy an RD350. They were supposed to be a bit of a riot.

I'd prefer an RD500. V4 two-stroke? Yes please. Or an NS400R

No offence, but I'm 40 and passed my bike test in 1987 at 19. I've ridden loads of these, but thanks for the hint.
The best thing about the RD350LCYPVS (or "Valve" or "Elsie" for short) was its abundance: it was the "natural progression" bike when you passed your test in the early-mid 80s; there were whole race series just for Elsies, including one where you all brought your bike and chucked the keys in a hat and raced the bike you chose the key for.
I've raced a KR1-S (despite what I said, they were fast); owned an RG250 Mk1; 2 NSR250s and was a gnats testicle away from buying an NSR400R. As such I may look to sling a TZR250 reverse or v-twin cylinder in the garage and just starting it up for 5 minutes at a time before the engine seizes. Then rebuilding it. If I shut the garage door I can get the full benefit of the smell of the 2-stroke. Yummy.
