This week's 'New-Look' Autosport

Why oh why do publisher's have to bring out a new-look to a magazine to disguise the increase in the cover price? This week, as well as a new look (pretty underwhelming), the price has gone up 10p - to justify the re-design? I'd have been happy to pay the extra cover price for the 'same look' magazine, thanks.

It must be the season for it as Classic & Sportscar has had a redesign too.

I'm most disappointed by the current format of Car mag's front cover.
Somehow it reminds me of all those shite celebrity magazines that are on the shelves - with too many headlines/article snippets on the front cover.
A quick glance at a late '80s/early '90s Car mag shows how much nicer it looks with a good picture and few words.

I have recently stopped buying Autosport because £3 a week is far too much for what is on offer.
I picked up this weeks copy in Tesco a short while ago and thought i might buy it to see what is in the redesign, but noticed they have put the price up, so back on the shelf it went.

£3.10 per week, or £12.40 per month is quite frankly ridiculous.

I had a look at the 'new-look' Autosport in WHS this morning. Apart from the non-descript new masthead, which was overwhelmed by the rest of the cover, the most noticeable change was the flimsy cover page. So flimsy, in fact that the copy I picked up was mangled and torn.

PKH - you could take out a subscription:

I used to have a subscription to Autosport a number of years ago but i cancelled it.
It was then followed, for about 12 months, by a countless number of unsolicitored phone calls and junk mail trying to get me to renew it, so out of some misguided principle i'll not take out another one.

I'll probably just pick up the odd copy here or there.

I managed to wean myself off Autocar 18 months ago, after giving it some time after it started to go down hill, but I just can't seem to get out of the habit of buying Autosport. I need my regular fix of motorsport and the writers are usually good. I agree that it's overpriced.....

I usually only buy Autosport after the GPs.

I've only bought 1 Autocar in the past 3 years and it reaffirmed my decision to stop buying it.

Likewise.
