The Nissan GT-R Road TestQuite interesting to see the full test
0-60 3.8
0-100 8.5
SS 1/4 12.1 @120mph
Average mpg on test 19mpg
Found the wet and dry lap times on their handling circuit interesting.
Compared to an Audi 4.2 R8
Dry
Nissan 1m 10.1secs
Audi 1m 13.8secs
Wet
Nissan 1m 14.2secs
Audi 1m 8.2 secs
So the Audi gets soundly beaten in the dry but really wallops the Nissan in the wet - not sure how optimized for dry use those Dunlop SP Sport 600s are though.

That is a surprise - I would have thought the GT-R would be mighty in both wet and dry. I hope evo will dyno one at some point so we can see exactly how many porkies Nissan are telling ...

I don't think there was too much up with its straight line performance looking at the 911 Turbo figures and also the faster GT2 which both weigh less. Think the GT2 managed 7.4 to the 100 mark and the Turbo which has the same power managed a 100 in 8 dead. Both a fair bit lighter though
They did say the aggressive tyres and power delivery hamstrung the Nissan on the narrow wet track though..........still 6 seconds on a 70 second lap is a country mile.....and the R8 isn't exactly small

I suppose the tyres might be the thing - the GT3 was almost comically slow round their wet track.

An interesting result, have you seen the GT-R vs GT2 Nurburgring comparison video at Drivers Republic?
Also an R8 telemetry lap (Silverstone)
and a GT-R...
And finally a GT2

I might be misreading that but how is it possible for the Audi to be 5.5 seconds a lap quicker in the wet then in the dry. Its NOT possible.

I think the wet and dry laps are two different circuits.

And the 'wet' is very wet.
The lines taken on the GT2's lap are strange in places.

I haven't read it yet, just bought it and galnced at the summary..4.5 starts for a car that every magazine has more or less told us 'better than an r8,any 911 blah blah blah' does not make sense.

Absolutely right - different lap configurations.
I'm still amazed the Audi is so much quicker in the wet.....as the Nissan, if it is on dry-optimised tyres, doesn't return the favour in the dry
