Suzuki Kizashi

Not Bad for a first effort, especially the aggressive kicked bootlid, like on an M3 CSL.

I think it looks nasty - wasn't the concept a good one, or maybe it was a sketch or 'design study'?

The rear from the side is C5, the headlights Chrysler Sebring. Anything with Sebring flourishes needs crushing.

There is a lot of Ford Focus about the front for me... (not the grille, but the front arches, bonnet and windscreen).

Did the designers forget to fit front indicators?

I don't like the rear, horrible exhausts, and it looks "dumpy" in profile.

Nasty interior too...

5/10 from me!

Lots of the concept piccies here:

The tail kick-up is nicked off my 135i....

The swines!

What is your legal position, can you claim against them?

Some of the detailing is a bit heavy handed (like the 'spoiler' thing), but generally I like it.
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

Like all smaller saloons, it looks a bit "squashed" in side view. Some noticeable influences - Volvo S60 (rear side window shape), Alfa 156 (rear pillar), Mk 5 Golf GTI (grille), EOS (headlights).
BeN

Apparantely, Kizashi in Japanese means "something great is coming".

Stop sniggering at the back...
Guitar Zero

Not bad that (to look at, outside)

What is it though ? - a Focus sized saloon powered (in the loosest sense of the word) by a tedious range of 4 cylinder drivel ?

Can't really see that being a winner in the UK.
boc70

In the second photo, it appears to be parked outside an old folks' home.  Target market?
Gurney

Perhaps they are going for all the Saga louts Honda alienated with the Civic.

It's colour sums it up. Grey.

Apparantly it's an Accord/Mondeo sized car.

Yep.  Check out those 'zorts.

It's more 'characterful' that I might have guessed, but only in the way that a dull person at an office do is more characterful because they've put a silly hat on.

Indeed. Utterly dreadful.

I'm still surprised you hadn't mentioned them, as a known auto bete noir.  Alas one you're likely to see more of as the school of trying too hard gains ground in automotive design.
Guitar Zero

Oh dear

I've just read on Autocar that this is Suzuki's envisioning of a 4wd sports saloon.

Wow - way to read the global markets
woof woof

I agree that it looks squashed.

I can't see why anyone would buy one of these over a Hyundai or Kia.
Big TC

That looks quite inoffensive - so will no doubt appeal to the giffer-end of the market.
Pkh72

It just screams American holiday rental to me.

I'm out.

It is still undecided whether the car will make it to Europe, with Suzuki currently concentrating on the US market.

It doesn't scream US car rental to me, I have a 'when in Rome' policy when it comes to renting cars in America. It doesn't matter if it's an inferior product!

Going to Miami in October, so I need to start looking at hire cars.
cbeaks1

Don't get a Sebring convertible. Or saloon.
Martin

No fear of that!  I'm thinking of a 300 Touring this time, the one with leather and the bigger engine as we are planning on doing more miles this trip.

I don't want to get a Town Car again and wallow all over Florida!!

That's the way I look at it.  I've rented an SUV when I go to Michigan in September.
TimR

Looks like the Suzuki has a very high nose.

Is that something to do with the new pedestrian safety stuff as the new Accord and Avensis seem similarly afflicted?
Matt

This one should ride well...

Big TC

That's definitely it's best angle. It looks quite nice in that pic.....
Matt

I thought that as well, but its reception has been somewhat negative thus far, so I didn't pass comment!

"I'd like a 1st class ticket to Dottigham please"*.

Better make it 1 way.

*For those youngsters on here this is taken from a Tunes throat lozenge advert circa 1980 and 'Dottigham' is Nottingham.
