Southport 25th Anniversary Airshow

Sadly I wasn't able to meet up with Scouse this year as we'd originally planned, for reasons noted elsewhere, plus Friday's night display was cancelled due to bad weather at the take-off points.

However, Herself and I met up with my mate, his wife plus their son and his girlfriend, and had ourselves a fairly sunny, enjoyable couple of days watching aeroplanes. And things.

Here are my highlights of the show, in the order Photobucket decided they should be!

Real or not?

Well that's it for another year. Hopefully we'll be back next year with even better weather!

Some great shots there, you've been practicing your panning skills !

How come the Red Arrows were doing aerobatics yet they were banned from doing so at Farnborough a few weeks ago? Were they over the water?

Cheers Chris - you want to see some of the rejects! (Actually, you really don't - they're woeful)

They were over the sea, yes, or at least well away from the crowd areas (the tide goes out over 2 miles at Southport, a fact I only found out this weekend!) as were all the displays apart from the Tigers (fairly obviously!) and the MiG pilot, who got a wee bit carried away once or twice.

Thoroughly enjoyed it all, especially the beer'n'BBQ we had on the beach, and looking forward to next year already.

Great shots. I must get to an air show at some point.

I love those model planes.
