For someone just starting out, you've got some terrific captures there! Technically, I suppose the landing bee stands out, but my favourite is the dog in the marsh.

You have a great eye for a pic and that is worth more than all the expensive kit put together, for it makes no difference how much you spend on gear if you can't "see" a picture. The pic of the collie jumping, I take it that is the same dog super-imposed onto the same frame?

For a cheap, but very good lens, the Canon 50mm F1.8 II is a bargain with an online price of around £70-£100.
Its plastic construction feels cheap, but its glass is likely better than any of the EF-S lens'.

Thanks again, may look into the nifty fifty as have thought about one for a while would really like a f2.8 70-200mm for agility stuff but they are a little pricey to say the least!
The collie pic is 3 pictures photoshopped together

Yabbo, I have the Canon 70-200 f4L lens and it is a cracking performer, most of the pics in my "Royal Cornwall Show" thread were taken with it. It is soooooooo versatile.

I doubt that most would bat an eyelid if they were told that these were professionally-taken pictures.

The second picture - the white rose with water droplets - would work as a h-yuge blown-up image.
Great pics, and please do post some more.
