Skoda Octavia

From the article - The engine line-up consists of 113bp 1.0-litre and 147bhp 1.4-litre TSI petrols, and 113bhp 1.6-litre and 147bhp 2.0-litre TDI diesels.

Jeez, is that really right? That the most powerful Octavia gets a hearty 147 bhp?

Does this mean they've dropped the vRS then?

A Skods?

Is that, like, a minicab wot yer gets in Marbs?

The Mercedes E-klasse just rang, it wants its front-end back

My first thought on seeing the photo too !

That's not a great facelift, those centre lights look all droopy, like they've melted. I see loads of Octavia vrs' about so I'm surprised it's being dropped. It's been the go to reasonably priced fast(ish) estate for some time so it clearly has a market. Unless it's been pinching too many sales from the Golf GTD wagon.

Looks like it's had a punch to it's snout too.

Is it me or is that hideously ugly.

I'm getting old, I prefer the original Octavia to later models.

VRS at the end of spring according to evo, along with the scout

Just read the article itself:

Inside, there are now three available infotainment systems: Bolero, Amundsen and range-topping Columbus.

That's what it has at the moment! Top journalism there.

I'm quite liking the new sporty Superb over this. Big ol' bus, though!

That headlight treatment is just awful.

Indeed, that looks rather good. A sort of Superb vRS-lite.

I didn't think I'd be alone.

Perhaps they're trying to crack the Berlin taxi market (it seems they've managed every other) and this is the last throw of the dice?
Tim

I see there are no photos of the rear end - is it still going to have that weird crease at the bottom of the tailgate that always makes me thing they've been rear-ended?

I'd like to know if the Yeti is about to have a minor facelift.  The 2-tone option for the roof has been discontinued, as has the "plain" finish, from the website you can now only have an "outdoor" not a "normal" version.

We're very short-changed in the UK with the 1.2 TSI being the main petrol option, and the 1.4TSI on the range-topping L&K (manual only) but no 1.6 or 1.8; next engine size up is the 2.0 TDI, so for a majority of buyers the choice is either 1.2 petrol or 2.0 diesel
Grampa

Better as it was.
