Skoda Kodiaq

Tiguan isn't it?
JohnC

Is that pronounced Kojak?

It does look very Tiguan so I suppose its success will depend on price and equipment levels. Looks pretty tidy to me.
Frank Bullitt

Isn't that 15ft of car, as Twelfth would point out?

Leaves me utterly cold, but then so do the Tiguan (I've seen a few, it sorts out your insomnia) and the SEAT thingy (Ataka or something like that).

It is basically a Tiguan with a different nose. Although I think Skoda have actually done their usual thing and made it the biggest of the same architecture crows.

I do wonder how it will compare price wise to its half-siblings.

Just as the Tigger drops those squared wheel arches Skoda brings the fucking things back!

I've now had a look at the Autocar pictures and the back end looks a bit of a mess. Like they didn't want a flat tailgate (too boring), so they made it all creased and with weird thin lights.

And it looks best in white v the blue / grey iother pictures. That's not something I thought I'd ever say about an SUV - it looks best in white.

More likely to be "Kodak"
Martin

I don't mind the Tiguan, not something I'd buy but it's an improvement on the old model.

My sister mentioned liking the SEAT version when I saw her at the weekend (she has a SEAT now which she likes), but went off it a little when I called it the Sciatica, which is what always comes into my mind when I see the advert

Well a Kodiak is a big bear, so I suspect the Skoda's name derives from that.  A big brother to the Yeti.

I assume this is the same size as the lwb Tiguan which is coming shortly.

Agreed. The rear looks like Miss Piggy's annoyed face.

Yogi would have been a better choice, then
Michael

It's probably going to clean up against the multitudes of Korean compact 4x4's I can't even name.
Blarno

Gun against my head, I would choose a Kia Sportage all day long.

I would absolutely love to see the day you choose a Kia SUV!
Scouse

I wouldn't! The world would be going to Hell in a handbasket if Blarno was choosing a small SUV!

If I absolutely had to have one of those kind of cars (for me, it would also take a gun), then I too would choose the Kia over the Skoda.  My brother and brother-in-law both have Sportages (the just discontinued model) and for the type of car, they're quite OK.
