Silverstone Track day 8.10.12

A few photos and a vid of my day out at Silverstone. The vid shows me doing a nice 360 as it was bloody slippy and I also blame the Prescott mud that was still welded to my tyres. A very good day with a good mix of machines out on track. If anyones interested they are doing the GP circuit in early December for 199.

Great stuff.
Martin

The concentration and the facial expressions........

I assume the 'karting line' is the right line for a 911!!

The GTR was pretty quick, didn't look like he was trying too hard either.
Blarno

"GWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!"

EDIT: Not sure who that is driving the Mono, either. It doesn't look like Oli, the test driver.

Is he a stick thin blond chap. He was giving instruction. Looked like you guys were taking out prospective customers as there were a lot of people getting in and out.

Martin, after my first spin I got 20 mins of instruction with the pro who kept saying Karting Line to me at that corner, kind of stayed in my mind. You'll have to excuse my commentary, I tend ro talk to myself a fair bit when I'm concentrating.
Martin

No need to be excused, it was very entertaining and at least you were troubling the apexes, unlike most of the other drivers!

+1.

I really must get around to a track day in the TVR.

No excuses Mark, I think I'm going to book the GP circuit in early December at Silverstone for 199. Usual price for the GP circuit is about 350 plus. Not too far south for you is it?

Looks like a couple of hours so less than Prescott!

Who do you book with?

ETA - I see that Silverstone themselves are affiliated with the ATDO which means I will be fully insured as well.

Mmm.  If you book, let me know.
Nice Guy Eddie

You can book directly with them or through trackdays.co.uk. I'll find a link to the deal over lunch.

Silverstone put on a good day also as everythng is run from the wing so your not sat in a grotty cafe waiting with a crap cup of tea. You are offered a free lunch and there are no stopages on track for lunch. Best run day I've been on.

A stick thin blonde chap could describe 50% of racing drivers!

Here you go Mark, Linky to the discounted day in December.

Alf McQueef

Looks like some pretty serious kit there!

I imagine Silverstone is pretty good in a quick road car. In a lower-powered Caterham, it was dire.
Nice Guy Eddie

The south circuit is twisty enough but I'll find out in December what the GP track is like. Might be a little too big and wide for a road car.

Big and wide is fine for me thanks!

ETA - Booked.
