Silverstone Classic

I'll cut to the chase, quite simply the best car show/event I've been to.

The amount of cars on display was phenomenal, and the racing was brilliant (made even better by being able to just walk into the pits and see everything).

The only downside was I was only there for 1 day, Colin and Dan went for 2 days, which is what I will be doing next year.

An absolute must for any petrolhead.

Porsche 911's 50th birthday so they had 911 911's to to a parade lap (they actually had over 1000 I think)

New pits at Silverstone:

In the pits :

Me with Sabine!

James Bond's car:

Enzo, F50, F40...

The view from a big wheel (free thanks to BMW):

I've not even scratched the surface with them pics.  I never take that many when Colin and Dan are there as they have literally every car covered, but what.a.day.

I have simply had far too much on to make this. Looks like a great weekend.

I was trying everything to go to this but with the builder starting tomorrow it was sadly not going to happen

Looks like a great day out.  I love the looks of the XJ220.  Were I disgustingly rich, I'd like one with a suitable V12 retrofitted.

Indeed!  Bork!

Only being on holiday kept me from this. Is it too early to plan a forum trip to classic le mans next year?

No, you need to book now!

I've got a space in the MX5 if you're interested, I'm going over with a load of TVR owners. We're booked to camp on circuit

Glad you enjoyed the Classic, it's brilliant, though I will say if you go again next year chances are you'll see a lot of the same stuff.

I've had a pants year car shows wise - Goodwood clashed with a pre-booked golf trip, Silverstone Classic with Scout camp. Currently pondering if I can make Classics on the Common in Harpenden on Wednesday.

That's the best show I've been to!

Excellent pics, Andy.

I've not been to this for a few years now and I was at the Anniversary Games in London this time around. I must try to plan to be there next year - Colin always seems to manage to bag his cheap tickets in about January!

I just want to tell you both good luck; we're all counting on you.
