Seat Ateca

Big Blue

Cost effective school-run fodder I presume.
Frank Bullitt

I'll reserve judgement until I twat the door cards with my knuckles - the SEAT Leon ST should be right up my street but the interior would be a disgrace on a car half the price, bloody awful.
Roadrunner

No doubt this shares underpinnings with the soon-to-be-announced Skoda SUV. With us having a VAG only company car list I am sure our car park will soon be full of either version.

If you can't beat the Qashqai, copy the hell out of it.

It does look a bit like a Qashqai with the interesting styling elements removed.

I can't get excited by any VW product at the moment. All too Dullsville, Arizona.
Big Blue

I think I'm with Bob on this. Car for the people .... the people that just need "some car"
Grampa

As those things go, it's nicely proportioned and a nice clean design. Nice colour too.

Is this the basis of the new Q5 as well?

I think it looks pretty smart and although it looks similar to a Qashqai I don't really see that as a criticism.

Agree with FB on the quality though. If they upped the quality a few notches it would make the cars so much more attractive.

I'm guessing it's sharing the new Tiguan (MQB?) platform, rather than Q5?

Another liker of Seat other than the interior quality. I really like the looks of the Leon but I've realised the big difference between Audi/VW and Seat/Skoda is interior quality.

Looks very Qashqai like but that's no bad thing to my eyes

Another jacked up  mummy-mobile - great !

I've always thought the Leon interior was good. Way Better than anything French, and also the current Focus .

I've sat in a few at Geneva, and also Simons Cupra and it was fine . you Get what you pay for -  a Golf R / s3 is 4k more expensive in the first place

The only way to survive for mainstream manufacturers, I think. Everyone wants a "crossover" it seems.

Fastest growing sector in Europe for the past few years.

Had a sit in a friend's Octavia VrS a while ago and my abiding memory is that when you grabbed the door pull (front passenger side) to close the door, you could feel a hard ridge of plastic where the two halves met.

Later that same week I sat in the back of my sister's Polo, and the door pull was one piece or certainly a lot more carefully moulded with no hard edges and a much softer feel.
