Schumey going home....

Apparently.

Yeah, but in what state?

I fervently hope I'm wrong, but I suspect the Schumi we loved (to hate) is gone forever

I'd agree otherwise I am sure we would have had a bit more information and perhaps photos. I hope he doesn't have to live out his days as a vegetable. If he still has any mental capacity I am sure it would drive him mad.
Big Blue

I am also if the opinion that he is a dribbling carcass hence the lack of photos. We can hope that he is getting fit to suddenly appear next June and win Le Mans but somehow I feel his death will be reported in 15+ years time with not a single photo seen again.
Giant

I too really hope he's not in a state where his mind knows how things used to be, assuming he's not in a good way, which seems highly likely sadly.

I said something similar to the wife a few weeks ago.

All looks pretty horrible:

I feel for his family, and it seems cruelly ironic that after surviving a long career in a dangerous sport that what seems like pure bad luck deprives them of what should have been a blessed remainder of his life.

Someone was telling me the severity of his injuries were due to the helmet mounted GoPro camera he was wearing being driven into his skull by the impact.
Twelfth Monkey

I think that was discounted early on, but I may be wrong.

If he'd only turned his head to check that girl in the skin tight ski suit beforehand......
DetmoldDick

He would appear to be in a better condition than I had feared. If they have acertained that he has memory problems then that means that although he is unable to speak, he is at least communicating.
I had feared that he was still in in a vegetative state. He is a fighter so there is hope for him yet.

Bianchi is back in France, too, I see...

Mmmm, is this really anything new though?

The lack of any proper info from an official spokesperson would have me believe that he is in a very bad way; it has been two years now and absolutely no info.

We will only hear anything official, when he dies.
Big Blue

I assumed that meant that they would wait for Mick (who has been racing in India, I think) to come home then say goodbye, but then I'm a bit resigned to the fact that he should have slipped away some time ago.
