Schumacher not to race after all.

Never his greatest fan, but a pity.

I'm gutted, Bob.
"him"

That is a shame...

Bugger.
Eff One

They're going to put Badoer in the car, as a reward for his years of work in testing.

Nice gesture, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on, but I'm gutted that we won't see a Schumacher comeback.
Rodge

Maybe they'll think outside the box and get Rossi to race for them.
He's possibly the only person who would be more popular as a replacement than Schmuacher.
It'd be fun to watch too.
That or they might be able to get Seb Loeb in. There's no WRC on that weekend.....

Or if Renault's appeal is unsuccessful, Alonso ...
Rodge

Just noticed that it's going to be Badoer.

Pity that, but good news for him I suppose.

..Edit..

Just seen Eff One's post, I should read previous posts before posting.
Nice Guy Eddie

I was so looking forward to seeing Schumacher in the car that I was trying to delay my holiday, I guess I won't have that problem now.

Gutted.

After all that hype too...

What a shame - I was really looking forward to seeing how Kimi  measured up to Schumi...

Badoer will not get near Kimi, on the other hand, as he was pretty crap when he was racing. And now he's not been racing for - what - 7 or 8 years? - he'll be extremely race-rusty.

He was driving a Minardi, though... having said that I think eyebrows will be raised if he does get anywhere near Kimi.

I think that would effectively draw a line under Raikkonen's career ...
Mike Amos

As a driver yes, his other career testing for pernod or the vodka brands will likely run on for a few years yet.

It's a shame, whilst not really a fan I was really looking forward to seeing him back racing.

Apparently he fractured bones in his neck and skull in that motorbike accident in February, it all seems a bit odd that that wasn't mentioned until now, surely if he had damaged his neck that badly he shouldn't have considered a come back at all 6-7 months after the accident.

Smells a bit fishy to me, maybe he bottled it, or it was just to keep everyone talking about F1 during the holidays!!

Bingo.

It's funny how F1 news is only ever really made on days that are not race days.

Whose times? Schumacher's? On his single day at Mugello he set a time slightly faster than Massa's best during winter testing in the F60. Very difficult to compare since Schumacher was driving a 2007 car, but competitive, I suspect.

There were concerns about his neck from day one and notes of caution were sounded - and ignored. I've no doubt it was genuine. Who knows, it may still happen nearer the end of the season, particularly if Badoer doesn't deliver.
TimR

Gutted to hear it but, as Eff One says, maybe we'll see him later in the season.
