UK cars are currently selling at prices well below their Euro equivalent, so although this won't cost GBP 51k in Britain, it could well be EUR 57k in Germany. For example, the R8 V10 is EUR 163k over here. | ||||

So some merit in ordering a left-hooker here and then selling it in Europe later and effectively lessening the depreciation??

There is a bloke who lies in the house opposite our apartment in Mallorca arrived in a Freelander on British plates from North East Land Rover in LHD so it must be able to be done - just a special order I guess. |

Yes - assuming its not changed there is something called the Passenger Car Availability Condition that means you have to do it, and also do it with sensible leadtimes. Its not a particularly simple process though. This was rife about 7 or 8 years ago when loads of people ordered RHD stuff in Europe for sale here as it was much cheaper. |

Indeed - I had to pick myself up off the floor when I saw that. Mind you, most of the 997 Carreras next door had six-figure price tags too. Although that paled into insignificance next to the 2.0 TDI Passat CC for EUR 47k ... |
