re-run on dynopfffff ,spent saturday morning at the installer but to no avail.he could not get a decent reading off the dyno (it is a bosch r4wd rolling road ) which should be accurate up to 500bhp.
unsure whether to go to another place to get it dyno'd.
I spoke at length to revo who said the chip alone produces 25bhp and 35lb ft of torque ,with the exhaust I could add another 15bhp and 20lb of torque quite easily so car should be producing 450 ish bhp and 350 is lb ft .
I have to say it certainly feels it ,it now feels at least gt3 fast and a quick blast with my friends rs6 which previously out ran me suggests the retuned r8 is quicker.
On one run I do whereby I floor it from 5mph in 2nd and hit the brakes at a certain marker the car fell only a couple of mph short of my best speed which was in the 997tt.
Aside from that the mid range pull is now in a different league, floor it in any gear and it now pulls hard, something it did not do before.
screw the v10 version ;)

Waste of time that rolling road then.
Not much point taking it to another dyno, as t get an accurate figure you really need to do a before + after dyno run, as every dyno reads differently.

Might be able to do that if the DIY box of tricks has been purchased.

I'm not sure why you would bother if you are happy with the results? What does it matter what figures a rolling road comes up with, which might not be accurate anyway?

I bought that dyanlicious application on the iphone.
Its great fun,and from what I have read remarkably accurate.
I ran some 0-60s but only starting in 2nd gear, got some great results ,but Ill post some of the times up when I get a chance to do a proper run.It will measure 0-100mph /qtr mile time etc.Only problem is finding a road where I can use it.

Be sure to emphasise that the timed 0-100 runs took place on an airfield or some such place when you post times up.

Hi Franki,
I'm really interested to hear what you think of it. Unfortunately I don't have an i-phone but I hope to buy myself one at Xmas.
I watched the Garage419 video and my friend has also used it on his car when he had it timed properly at Bruntingthorpe with the Racelogic gear that mags often use. Both seemed to concur that it is pretty accurate for a Cheapo phone app.
Be good if one of the car mags could test it definitively in a few different cars next time they did some performance testing. Would be cheapish for them to do in comparison to the proper gear.
I'm going to try it when I get hold of one - maybe at APR

It is excellent, but you really need 2 people in the car, trying to focus on a good launch and going when it tells you start ,pressing the butttons etc is a bit tricky, best if a 2nd person operates the phone.
It should be fairly accurate ,and from what has been said on here and various other forums it is.
It is only the second app that I have bought, the other being the guitar kit (tuner metronome etc) .
You obviously have to be aware it will be nigh on impossible to match magazine times on standard cars, unless you are prepared to ruin your clutch and to spend many hours practising your launch techniques...but it is fun and a lot more accurate than trying to time a run yourself.

Yes I'd not be trying to match the standard figures for mine.
The weak link on mine is traction from a standing start rather than the clutch ( Ap 6-paddle )
Does it have a facility to do incremental figures? They might be easier on your transmission

I think Harris did a vid on the iphone app on the former democratic republic of driver’s website so it is probably lost.

If you mean 30-70,40 -60 in 4th etc then no it doesn't do that.It will measure up to whatever speed you go up to in 10mph increments, from which you can work out for example your 30-70 time.
it will also measure your 'g' as well if so required.

Ah, so you could do a tardy transmission-preserving 0-20 take off and then cane it up to 100 to get an idea of your 30-70 time, 60-100 etc.
Sounds good - let us know what you get

Good good.
If you get access to your airfield let me know what 60-100 time you get
