Random French classics

Citroen 2CV Bijou:

Citroen 2CV Radar:

A strange opening rear door on this 2CV, I don't know anything about it:

Peugoet 505 Super Production:

4 cylinder, 403bhp, 1210kgs.  0-60 in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 164mph.

What's this?:

1971 504 Break Riviera:

Only 3 were made, it's believed that only 1 now survives.
Colin

Some real novelties, there. Never seen the 504 Riviera ever before... I wonder where the 1 survivor is?

Ahem...

And I'm very fond of this...

No offence meant Chris.  I hadn't even started on Renaults.

None taken!

Good stuff Dan

That 2 door 405 looks plain wrong. Is it a chop?

The 3 door BX looks quite interesting, on the other hand.

Cheers.  I had a great evening discovering this little lot.  Not sure how it started but certainly opened my eyes to what's out there that so few know about.

I'm assuming that the 405 coupe is a chop.

Citroen C60 (small pics but it's so odd I thought it was worth posting)

Matt

It's like an Escort-sized DS!
D.

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a classic:

It's a Renault Alliance GTA convertible.  There was a 'coupe' version but I'm yet to find a pic of one.
Blarno

Looks like a badly butchered R11.
DaveGibson

It was an American Motors built R11 - the result of an ill-fated tie-up between the two companies.

More from the unholy Alliance between Renault and AMC:

1938 Peugeot Darlmat

The Darlmat raced at Lemans for Peugeot in 1938

Lovely............. here is the one that was on display at Retromobile:

I really liked the 2-door 405. And the white 2-door DS, come to that. And both the 2/3-door BXs. But then I always like 2-door cars.

That sawn-off Kamm-tailed SM is pretty amazing too.

I love 505s.

Better late than never...it's not a chop, they really did look at a 2dr version.

Loving that AX Estate thing, never seen that before.
