R8 V10 Spider.

"him"

It doesn't look right without the plank... maybe it is the colour?

I read earlier they were only fitting the V10 to the Spider, though worryingly an "electric model" was also mentioned...

Bit late for that since the coupe's already out there.

The first picture has the same backdrop Alfa used for the MiTo GTA shots.

I meant there would be no V8 Spider...

Rodge

I like the colour, the shape and the car in general.
Pkh72

Very nice although i don't get the current trend for show/press cars to be in shit brown.
It looks ok on some cars but i personally don't think this in one of them.

Probably the same graphic design people - lazy bastards.

The colour for that R8 is rank. Somehow the side view manges to look a lot like an A4/A5 cabrio.
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

I like the colour. Though on a grey day in Stockport it might not look so good.
Twelfth Monkey

Nasty wheels and colour.  The R8 is still striking as a coupe, but the convertible lacks any cohesion.
BeN

Brown, again.

Is poo the new silver?

"It doesn't look right without the plank..."

What have you got against him? He's just an actor and for all we know this driver's a plank too.

BeN

Weirdly, I like the green one.
woof woof

Yes.

I've been trying to do a yellow one but I can't get it to look nice.
simonp

All that comes to mind is Waynetta Slob when Wayne buys them a car.

"Iss bran, I doan like bran!"
DaveGibson

I'm not struck by the pink leather on the red one.
woof woof

I like it. It matches my lip stick.
Twelfth Monkey

I saw a white R8 on the way to work this morning.  Makes this look crap.
Scouse

Don't like that at all, like 12th says it lacks cohesion and seems to be missing the sideblade.. Which is a bit odd as I like the R8 aside from the sideblade.
Big TC

Utterly shit in that colour - it doesn't suit it at all.

Who in their right mind would sink a shed load of cash in a lovely car like that, in brown?

Think so. I'm sure Porter did a column about it in evo a couple of editions ago.

EDIT: Brown, poo, and someone doing a column - will this now get hijacked?

I saw a brown Volvo off roader this morning. Brown does seem to be making a come back, reminds me of the russet brown
Mini 1000 I had as a teenager. I loved that car...russet brown with a vinyl roof and a sun roof and the paintwork was so shiny
you could see your face in it.

So you can polish a turd!

...no offence intended
woof woof

Fashion and tastes were different waaaaaaaaaaaay back then, brown was a common enough colour. However, I think that my russet
brown Mini was a much nicer colour than these modern browns, they hold no appeal at all for me.
Humphrey The Pug

I like the brown but the side view doesn't look anything special, just like a run of the mill Audi cabrio.

White is probably the best r8 colour, white followed by the grey they do and silver (obv.)
Guitar Zero

Nothing wrong with that colour - metallic bronzey brown gets the thumbs up from me.

It's just the wheels that toot schlong - and the fact that it's a gaybriolet
woof woof

I just don't understand this association of open cars and / or their drivers being in any way "gay." People need to get over it.
"him"

It is childish isn't it...

woof woof

We used to have a forum bloke called Alex who had one of those...

Are you watching Alex...????

Also...There's a pink MGF near me, I've never seen the driver.
Blarno

Dog's cock red is the best colour out of all of them. Except for the pink leather.
woof woof

Pink? It's Flush Red and it's a very expensive option.

The term " gay " can mean many things - usually interchangable with words like " pathetic ", " shit ", " pointless ", " twatty ", etc, etc, etc.

It's a simple and effective way of expressing contempt for something.
woof woof

You do talk gay at times GZ.

Open cars are fab.

My Dad and I saw one of these in Padstow on Sunday. The bloke in the passenger seat looked miserable as sin alongside his misses.
Guitar Zero

She must be the filthiest bitch alive if he is willing to put up with being shuttled around in one of those.

Or be a massive gay who lets his sister drive his pride and joy
