r8 revo technik remapor could that be r8vo technik remap ? Anyway it is booked in for friday.
Full rolling road test before and after and the switchable box so you can flip between the factory settings and the remap.
Let you know how it goes.

It is very well suited to the milltek I have apparently.Not sure what BHP gain will be,I would hope for a total afterwards of c.440 bhp ,would be dissapointed if less and overjoyed if more.
As for the pricing ,,,as you said it is a bit of a rip off,but Revo have a good rep. and they are doing me a deal on the switch thing.

Don't get me wrong, if I was gonna have a VAG car remapped this is the company I'd use, but I do think they're cashing in on the fact that you're probably a lot better off than someone who drives an A3. N/A remaps are usually cheaper than ones for turbo cars due to (I assume) the smaller gains involved and that there are less variables to tweak, but this is a very expensive bit of software. A Golf GTI Edition 30 driver, for example, would get an extra 70bhp (a 30+% increase) for 200 quid less.

You have to consider the numbers of each car they intend to remap as well.
They will do a lot more turbo Golfs than Audi R8s, so if both models incur the same development overheads, they will need to charge a higher per unit cost for the lower volume vehicle in order to recover their intial overheads and eventually turn a profit.
I imagine it probably cost them more to develop the R8 remap anyway because they would need a car to do the software work on - so they must either buy or rent a car to suit that purpose.

They don't tend to buy or rent one - normally they just go to the owners club and have someone fetch one down for the day in exchange for a free remap.

Depends if they have other modifications to sell as well. You sometimes see ex-development cars for sale.
One day seems a bit quick though - I know they aren't starting from scratch, but you would think they would try and do some basic durability work.

I do think it is expensive for what is involved,but life is short.
It's also if you don't like you don't pay...if it makes no noticable difference they will reveert the car back to normal and I don't have to pay a penny.

You'll get better gains having a turbo, if that makes you feel any better?
Having been blatting round some Audi forums looking for gen on 3.2 A3s it would seem that RS4s usually only makes 380-390bhp on rolling roads and need work on the inlet manifold to get them up to claimed power. I guess they only make 414 on a bench dyno?
Course, I dunno whether the same applies to the R8 as not many people have one of those!

I reckon that's just internet talk: there are quite strict rules on quoted power figures, so that in favourable conditions, engines will give a lot more than quoted. I seem to remember EVO putting an M5 on a dyno and getting over 530 bhp. Which, come to think of it, may be why companies offering maps do so well, as the engine is possibly producing more than the claimed figure to start with.

We've made 583bhp from this one so far, and that's just with a new exhaust/airbox and different engine management.....

Bike remaps: £249 for a Datatool Power Commander with a USB and your laptop. Hundreds of bikes and data with various exhausts are available FoC.
And that's the point: franki has mentioned he has a Milltek pipe so the original map (done on standard pipes) will be compromised somewhere. The remap will align the map with the new, free-er breathing exhaust. That there are power gains is an aside: this is a powerful car with abilities beyond those of any of us here. What will happen is that the car will have better responses; pick-up and even fuel economy as the map will be less compromised for emissions control on a standard pipe.
