Porsche Boxster Spyderhttp://www.worldcarfans.com/10911...r-revealed--world-premiere-in-los
Looks better than the standard Boxster but does make me wonder how far porsche can stretch each model line.
Edit - can somebody amend the title to insert the missing 'S' in Boxster for me, bloody sausage fingers .

Re: Porsche Boxter Spyder
Spent 20 minutes at the porsche garage yesterday as they had a new gt3 in which looked great....but pride of place went to the panamera which was on one of the tilted circular things that rotate round.
I genuinely cannot think I have ever seen a more hideous car ,it is bordering on offensive. If you went out with a female equivalent of the panamera you would have to put a bag on its head, and arse.

I like the idea, but you'd need a garage with that roof. I would have thought a Caterham style tonneau cover would work better when you're not driving it.

You could have done it yourself at the same time as you added this request (which would then have been unnecessary ).

Oh aye, i've just been back in and done it, i thought it was an admin only thing.

I'll just take the normal Boxster S, thanks.

That looks ridiculous.

Looks like a home roof off hatchet job.

It looks like a copy of the late '80s 911 Speedster, so like a 20 year old design.
Not impressed.

Looks very odd with the roof up, not bad with the roof down - but I prefer the standard Boxster shape.

What exactly is the purpose of that over a normal Boxster?
What does it give you that the Boxster doesn't?

An extra inch of pub bragging rights, I would guess.

I like the idea of a lighter more hardcore Boxster, but I'm not at all convinced by the roof - and you can bet your bollocks that Porsche will charge you more for less. Bring back the Club Sport, I say.

Dr H and I had a good idea for a Boxster CS: 4 pot turbo, manual roof, keep-fit windows and steelies. In silver, it could be a modern 356 'Little Bastard' Spyder.

Looks good on paper. Depends what it costs over here.

In an ideal world, I'd love one as it's a cracker to look at. In the real world i.e. rain-sodden England, what's the point!?
Judging by the car I had in mind and the one they've used to illustrate the link on that page, it would be better suited in silver with "lil Bastard" on the back.

I just hope that it means a Cayman Club Sport is imminent, too.

Pretty pointless IMVHO, I'd take the standard car every time. I remember what a faff on the Elise roof was. No thank you.

In a country with a hot climate, and if this was just a play thing i.e you had a second car, probably a 911....... then this would be a fantastic car to own. It is bound to be quite rare, as most people would be put off with the roof set up.
Will be great to drive.
As a main car in a wet climate, there is no point. You could use a normal boxster all the time.

at least you can tell which is the front and which is the back !

"What does it give you that the Boxster doesn't?"
A few thousand pounds less in your bank account would be my guess. Bound to be a premium over the standard car.
