Photoshop Express vs Photoshop Elements

Has anyone used this?

I've hesitated to buy Elements as I don't know how much use I'll get out of it yet, so I've used Express to edit a load of photos I took last weekend and now have a problem. I've uploaded the jpegs to Express and edited them online, now I want to download them to save on my laptop, but I can only seem to download them one at a time (there's 72). Does anyone know how I can download all of them at once, or am I stuck with sitting here and doing them individually?

Anyway, I'm seriously thinking about getting Elements now so I can edit in the application rather than online, is it worth getting, and is it fairly user friendly for a beginner? I've seen it on Amazon for £53.87 including postage, which seems like a good deal, so should I go for it? I'm downloading the free trial now...

Have you tried the trial version of Elements?

It comes with "downloader" tool that downloads all your photos (if you wish to use it), I have Elements 6.0 and still 'drag'n'drop'...

Trial here - http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/

If you want a decent free photo editor, I'd download Google's Picassa. My Dad had it on his PC and loved it.

I've downloaded all my photos saved on my hard disk using the 'get photos and videos' tool, but I can't see a way of importing the modified versions I've made on Express - can you point me in the right direction?

If you're not a computer geek, you'll need a book to even begin to try to undertand Elements, even though it does have some intuitive features.  However, when you've tried it out, it is actually easy to use. I'd recommend you get it, David, you'll have endless hours of fun.

Let's see some more of your photgraphic efforts here....

The images from Express are saved online I assume?

The only way you will get them into Elements is to download them from the Adobe site and save them to a folder on your computer.  Then you can use the tool you used above.

If the Express files are stored on your computer anyway, then you can simply "point" the software to where they are stored.

If you look at the small print in the T&Cs for Express you'll find that Adobe reserve the right to use any of your images as part of the agreement to sign up.

I've been using Elements 6 for a few months now and it's pretty easy. Getting a book or doing a course is the best way to get started though. I also recommend the tutorials in Digital Photo magazine as they have CD-ROMs that take you through the stuff step by step as well as in the mag.

You should see if you can get hold of Elements 6 on the cheap as Elements 7 only came out recently and apparently there's no too many differences.
