PC -> TV

My laptop screen broke a few months ago, which peeved me somewhat as it's the only computer that Doomsday works on. So, I hatched a great little plan involving the external monitor output: get a monitor lead and plug it directly into my TV's EXT4 slot. Et voila:

Broken screen. (I stood on it..)

UT.

Ultimate Doom mit Doomsday Enginehosen.

Nice one, just try not to forget that the laptop is connected to the TV when "surfing the net"

Thankfully, I don't have a wireless adaptor for it so it's purely for games.

For now...

Full screen and proper controls, what's not to like?

I do agree over the whole mouse and keyboard thing, but controllers work pretty well too.  Its hard to get used to though.  I remember playing quake 3 on the dreamcast thinking "this will never catch on".  Halo on the original xbox was the first one i played at length with a pad and now theyre just second nature to me.  Havent used a mouse/keyboard outside of RTS for years.

I can play with controllers, it's just that I'm much, much faster, fluid and precise with a mouse/keys combo.

I'm going to attempt to finish the 4th episode of Doom tonight, It is seriously tough.

My Mac Mini will be hooked up to the TV.

Viewing the Motor Forum in 37" of glory will be a highlight, amongst other things.

To highlight the level of nerdery I operate at, I'm jealous of your Sky box with the light-up logo, because it looks better than my dull white box.

I bought a proper Apple Digital Display along with a separate keyboard and mouse so I can use my laptop properly at the office.  The resolution is amazing.  It was a bit bloody dear though.
