Reckon there's room for a mucky one?
One for a winter month perhaps?

Phillip 1

It is someone elses photo (obviously!), but I own the rights to it. I've got in a silly resolution somewhere too.

I have some trackday pics that I have bought, but I'm not sure whether it's OK to use these for the calendar.  If you think it's OK, I'll gladly post.

The other good one I have was taken by David Yu at the Autodrome - I'm fairly sure he wouldn't mind it being used, if chosen:

There are some wonderful photos here already. I particularly like Canadians series, but Resident Spanner also has a good point on depicting the seasons. I love Rodge 1 as an Autumn picture, the colours are fantastic.

I don't think my photos are anything great compared to the stuff here, but I'll try anyway.

BeN 1 (if the white 'stick' could be Photoshopped out it'll be great)

Big TC

Piers - what about that photo from F1 testing at Silverstone - the one with the fantastic rear tyre distortion on the F1 car (can't remember which car it was)?

I remember uttering 'wow' when I saw that one....
marcg

My votes:

Kraftwerk II - a picture that sets off a hundred stories in my head.

Canadian 5 - Dear Christ. Beautiful colours, forms, composition. Love it love it love it.

Jasper 1 - Witty this one - the colours, the rounded hills vs the car. Made me smile.

PG - "We're all going on a. summer holiday... a summer holiday..." The colours in this remind me of my childhood (which is a good thing) (when summers were actually hot).

Alf 5 - I particularly like the marshalls waving. Without them, it's just a typical Le Mans wet endurance stock shot, with them it becomes a battle of men versus each other, and the elements.

Chris M 1 - fantastic dynamic focus on that! I was wowed when I saw it. I love the graininess: was that in an arena?
marcg

Gurney

Now that's good, so easy to get the exposure utterly wrong on that. I like.

The thought occurs that I don't have a single shot of my car in moody lighting or against a backdrop of mother nature's epic loveliness.

Technically not my picture but my brother's! I'm sure he won't mind/know, though!

Can't find that one immediately, but how about this one of his? Robert Kubica in Eau Rouge:

Yes, great shot of the stang.
Colin

Not one of mine, but I'm flattered to think you thought it could be.

We've got lots and lots of great pics here already.......... and that's before (he modestly says!) I put any of mine forward for consideration.

At this rate, we could publish a book, not just a calendar!
PR

Maybe a page-per-week calendar!

The Mustang in Jasper's post was my wife, but she won't mind.

I like the last one not because its a great picture, but because it is a)and Orange Mk1 Mexico, and therefore the coolest car ever, and b) beacause its surrounded by other plastic shrouded Fords.

Could we have pictures of the Compacts EVERY month ? I love those.

Thanks for the complement.
Yes, it was taken in the Cardiff Millenium Stadium at the Dec 2006 WRC Wales Rally GB special stage.  Last year, they had the indoor lighting turned right down    so my photos all came out very dark.  Not sure if I will go this December as a result.

If you'd got the tide wrong, it would have put the A2 on the endangered species list. Surely there should be some rule - as with the royal family - that you can't have more than a certain number in the same place.

Ah.

Good picture nonetheless. The Alfa 155 stood out for me.
TimR

It's the one that I was interested in buying about 2 and a half years ago but I 'passed it on' to a mate.
It's one of the phase 2 versions with the sportskit and black wheels.

We think it may also have been lowered which would've contributed to my mate ripping the sump out of it after he had it 3 weeks. Fortunately it did no internal damage and a replacement sump was all that was needed.
Mike Amos

How long do we have?  I'd love to submit some pics of the yellow hearse but, she is still not back.

You have a hearse??? I'd love to drive around in a hearse.

Although my partner Amanda says she wouldn't be seen dead in one....

So hard to choose what to submit for consideration, so here's a varied selection:

I decide to concentrate on photos in landscape format.......... if we decide that we want portrait format, then I would enter some different pics!

Of my own car(s):

From the rental cars:

Others:

Rather a lot, I know......... and that was just a small subset of those I could have entered!
kraftwerk

Nice pics, Colin. All the same, there are several rental models there with which I'm sure we'd prefer not to sully the proposed calendar.

Just what I was thinking - a shame some of the most interesting scenery was visited in the least desirable cars. I like the Alfa GT ones though.
DarthBalls

I don't want to be the one to piss on anyone's chips (metaphorically and photographically speaking) but this thread would be a lot easier to look at if people could stick to a maximum of, say 5 shots each.

I have literally hundreds of shots I could post but I decided to just put in a few favourites.

This thread now takes forever to load and it is really hard to go through all the shots to make any kind of decision on I like best.
Big TC

We should have one decision for Colin's pics, and one for the rest.

My choice of Colin's would be the white awful monstrosity on the beach.... because I like the setting. Now, if it were a decent car, it'd be the cover shot!
M.

People should feel free to post whatever pictures they like. I'm putting them into a thumbnail sheet which ought to make the selection process a bit more straight forward. There are some excellent pictures in there already so keep them coming. Fortunately this week has generated a wealth of BMW Compact related imagery which will no doubt be a popular choice.
Big TC

I was going to answer Michael's last post with a cutting and ammusing remark (or at least it was to me) but it's bad forum form to slag another member's car choice....

It's akin to suggesting that someone's manhood was less than average size.
BeN

While I realise that almost all the pictures have cars, I realise that I do have some nice pictures of no cars. If that's okay I wouldn't mind contributing, seeing that the two pictures I've submitted so far has been taken out of the running.
M.

If they're decent resolution submit what you like, Ben.
BeN

OK.

So, here I go again:

BeN 1

BeN 2 (I thought this was rather cheeky)

Hope they're okay.
