It's still work in progress, so if you point out the glaring omissions, I'll get them done when I finish work, tonight. Have a good day, gents.
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

*cough*

<---------------
Matt

I knew there was something obvious
BeN

I dunno if I should be counted, since the car's not technically mine.

Oh well. Work harder to get my own car.
M.

To miss one Alfa GTA is a mistake, to miss two is car(e)less!
GonnaBreakABuggy

405 Mi16x4 and a pair of Triumph GT6's!

Ok, they're all off the road in various states of repair but still...
M.

Isn't there someone with an Avantime?
Star69

And someone else with a SportKa...
kraftwerk

What about Bryan and his 3-series covertible and A3?

And what about poor old Colin! How could you miss Colin out?!?!?[/url]
kraftwerk

Ooh, and do the motorcyclists among us get a separate list?
cbeaks1

Me too!
Racing

I think the old list was done by alphabetically by type of car and model, rather than by forum members? Might be easier to read.
Boxer6

kraftwerk wrote:

We should, even if we don't have one right now!

And, how could you forget mine - the bloody thing's big enough!! (fnarr-fnarr)
Roadrunner

Feel free to add my Royce and MG
Pete

How can you forget me? My cars bright yellow and I keep putting up photos

Also got 2x Golf Gtis loitering about too
Matt

Racing wrote:

It's still very much a WIP. I was just doing it by memory first.
.

And you put Martin above me!  Hmphhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Pete

And my cars a Cinq Sporting Abarth according to the V5
SpecB

Subaru Legacy 3.0R Spec B Sports Tourer
Humphrey The Pug

306 1.8 Meridian and currently, until the end of the month, a Megane dCi
.

Is Ford possibly the most numerous marque on the forum?

Richard (MB_Insider) has a Focus and a Focus C-Max plus not forgetting Apex Clipper and his Focus aRSe.
:-(

Hmm - I know I haven't been on for a while, but out of sight, out of mind?
M.

What does M3Paul drive now?
Then there's Dan, BigTC, G, Twelth, Mike Amos...
GonnaBreakABuggy

Mike wrote:

Yeah, everyone knows all the 306's should be at the top!
.

As his name would suggest, an M3 - though not the PY he had before.  Plus his wife has an...an X...an X3.  There said it.
M.

Do the Cornish have sarcasm down there?
D.

Mines a Fiat Grande Punto Sporting, a Seat Leon 20vT and a Suzuki SV650S.

I think he's only discovered it on his trips over the border into the 21st century. He's still learning.
Matt

Well, it's ordered and pretty much all I can think of.

Aww, I'm in....

No.  You forget I am young and not had as much practice at it as you have.

The obvious solution is to listen to Terry Wogan.

I don't want to fall aspleep in the mornings on the way to work.  Anyway everytime I turn R2 on they are playing Madonna and Material Girl.

I don't know, it might be accessible as a file link for those who click it to download. I don't actually have Excel, so don't know these things.
Bryan M

I have now got the above info into a spreadsheet - covering the following headings

Martin

I thought it was something to do with the enjoyment he got from riding around getting in everyones way!
D.

I have the only Spanish car....yey!!

Hmmmm....thinking about it...is that a good or a bad thing?!

What's a conf?
SpecB

I can't believe there are only two Subarus and I have the only Legacy - yayyyy!
Stuntman

An even better barometer of our collective taste and discernment is that there's only one Vauxhall on that list - and it's probably AndrewL's Astra VXR, which is a ripsnorter of an enthusiasts' car, IME of it at Donington on the VXR trackday.

What about Matt's Dad's Astra coupe thingy?

EDIT: clearly the number of Vauxhalls on Bryan's file cannot be right, because he also lists 2 Vectras - and AndrewL's and the old man's cars are on Matt's initial post.

The Astra VXR is just soooooooo cool.  A lad from a company who used to rent from me has just bought one - it really looks the business.
D.

Iain's got a Vectra, I don't know about the other.
Bryan M

Dan - well spotted - the vagaries of pivot tables (some of the Vauxhalls/Fiats and a BMW were keyed in with a space behind their name so were counted separately and on list above twice) - let me know if you spot anything else and I'll fix

Conf - stands for confirm so where I am not sure or didn't have the info I have put this in ie at present the fuel type is

Conf 20
Diesel 15
Petrol 70
Grand Total 105

Bryan M

Anyway conclusion from above is Alfa Owners are more vocal that Audi owners - I was surprised by that result!!
D.

All we need now is the 'average' car.

Take all the bhp's, weights, capacities, etc and see what we get.
.

How common are 3 Series on this forum!
Bryan M

Dan - the file has capacity for all that - but it was based on the info at the top and my knowledge so there are a lot of gaps - if people want to send me info i will update or I can post the file some how to show what is missing

Happy to create columns for whatever is required for info

Av Capacity is 2218 cc over 66 vehicles which I have info / could guestimate
Av Cylinders are 4.82 over 74 vehicles
Total size at the moment is 105 vehicles and i am missing 91 entries for colour and BHP is similar

So it really is a little microcosm of real life!

Of course two of those 3-series are the ultra-rare and exclusive sort.

And I'm not talking about the M3s...

kraft - Iain is Blarno, so the Vectra that Dan refers to will be Graham.
kraftwerk

Bugger, so he is.
Bryan M

Piers - an some of us have a unique 3 series on the forum!!!

Vauxhalls listed are (can't seem to post easy to read tables)

User Name Origin Make Model Spec Fuel Engine Cylinders BHP Colour
the old man UK Vauxhall Astra Coupe Petrol 1800 4 Conf Conf
simonp UK Vauxhall Astra 1.9 CDTI Diesel 1900 4 Conf Conf

Matt

Bryan, the PM I just sent, I forgot to say the Astra is the old man's coupe. D'oh!

Matt - info updated

Yep only 1 E30

But also

Only 1 E90
Only 1 E91
And only 1 E92
DaveGibson

Rather late to this because my broadband's been down for a week (thanks BT).

There is another vehicle omitted - it's pictured on the left.

You may recall we listed our engine sizes and bhp figures a while ago - I still have the spreadsheet which summed and averaged the figures. It will need a little updating following vehicle changes and the arrival new forum members.
Bryan M

Dave - it crossed my mind at the time when I was entering it in but I was having Excel blindness at the time

Will add it in - i will send a PM with my email address on and if you can send me the file i am happy to merge together
canadian bacon

the AUSTIN HEALEY SPRITE MK1 seems to have disappeared as well.....

I think we worked out that our forum average car was a Peugeot 407 2.2 HDi, based on engine size. It was also one car that none of us owned.
Bryan M

Ahem.....it may have been categorised under a humble ..... cough... Austin.....will Rectify!!!!
Gurney

Your down a fortwo as well, not that statistically it will make much of a difference.
Racing

Needs an update methinks after the sudden rush of blood to the heads of several forummers.
Bryan M

Agreed - touch busy with work at the moment - I'll try at the weekend - post any updates on here and I'll capture them
cbeaks1

VW Golf GTI Mk2 8v (1.8 and 115bhp) is one to add.
Blarno

We now have another Vectra. We've just bought a 1999 1.6 LS this afternoon....
Racing

Vectraman Squared no less.
TimR

Remember to remove my Mitsi Shogun from the engine size/power spreadsheet.
God I miss it
Matt

Hows this, Blarno?

Blarno: Clio Renaultsport 172 Cup plus Vectras track slag & family hatch
Blarno

Strictly speaking, it's Jo's car, but I'll be doing all the mechanical work. As per usual.

I will actually be sad to see the Coarse go....
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

So is the new trend - buying a new car that's the same as the old one? Perhaps I should ask Porsche Swindon if they have any GT3s left ...
TimR

Stevie Wonder wrote:

I used to work with a lady who changed her burgundy 1.2 Nova saloon (2 door variant) with an identical one 2 years later then after another 2 years bought another identical one.
The daft thing is each car probably only did 15k miles over those 2 years and was immaculate when she changed it.
Dr. Hfuhruhurr

Ah, the Nova 2-door saloon: the Western European Trabant!
scamper

Er, mine is a non-rep Touring i'll have you know, and thus not an E91 (?)
needmorepower

Sorry I'm late to this (as always).

For joyous identification the Mighty    Vectra is a 1.9 Tdi - 120 brake. In black. In full non-scamper spec.

But can we add my wife's car to the list (seeing as it's my name on the V5!!)?
Seat Leon Cupra R, 1.8,  4 pot, 20v, Turby. Also black (cos I love all the cleaning...   ).

That makes me sound a lot better - wouldn't want people to think of me a a diesel repmobile driver ... although it might be a bit late for that. Bugger.

Our cleaning lady has a mini, she had one which continually broke down so she bought another one,identical....she had that for 1 year then replaced it with another identical mini.
I am completely and utterly baffled.

Apologies all I have been madly busy of late - hopefully will have some time over the weekend to update the list
Nelson

good man, about 2am if that's okay with you !!

What about recent additions? I'm thinking of my 'new' Peugeot 605 SVdt tow-car.... Strictly, it's Amanda's car, but as I put my name on the V5 I'll claim it....
