No blank switches...

...on the new Panamera.

PhilD

Surely the stitching on the upper dash is a bit uneven for you Martin?
Martin

Build quality will have to improve.  I don't like the open upholders either.
JohnC

It does have the makings of looking rather special though.
Martin

It does.  I know it's not generally liked, but I'm a Panamera fan and the new one looks like it will be even better outside and in.
JohnC

I just wish it was a bit smaller. I have a client with one (in white of all colours!) and it looks and is huge but sitting in the passenger seat is still a bit of an occasion: the quality is everywhere to be seen.

Surely with configurable touchscreens the days of switch blanks are numbered? As options are added the manufacturer can just update the screens.

Or just add some pretty blanks!! Is this configurable? Looks good either way.

Is the red button for the ejector seat?

Ejector seat? You've got to be joking.

I never joke about my work 007.

(sorry, reflex action)

Stuka-style bomb release?
Roadsterstu

Went to an RTC a couple of weeks back where the trauma Dr arrived in a Panamera, complete with hidden blue and red lights and siren. Better than arriving in an Arstra estate.

Anyone with OCD will be having kittens over the fingerprints created when hitting the 'switches' which appear to be like a smart-screen.

Can't get excited by the Panamera, whenever I see a white one the only vision that comes to mind is Moby Dick.

Revolting things

Bosch showed off haptic car switches at the CES show. So I wonder if this new Panamera interior uses them?

No more blank switches and much cleaner looks (well, apart from the fngertips marks obviously).
Michael

That looks promising. Can't wait to see how they move the game on.

Not if you wear your gloves silly!

Big Blue

If it brings the end of the era of string-backed driving gloves I'm all for it

They're like the ones OJ wore.

Does this mean that a Defensive Owner now needs cape, moonboots and gloves?
Nelson

phwarrrr, that's all sorts of nice, bloody perfect. Now that the perfect design and ambience I like.

That, the new E-Class Merc and a top spec Audi A4 and you've got just about the best interiors (for the real world)
TreVoR

I have always loved the Panamera - it's on the lottery win list.
Michael

They're pretty reliable, new at least. Wouldn't you be better in an older one which needed work?
TreVoR

If I do ever win the lottery then there will always be room for old stuff that needs sorting out.
Blarno

I can't get excited by that at all.
Tim

I think the Panamera looks like it weighs about 3.5 tonnes, they've not managed to give it any visual lightness, and when I see one close up I'm always surprised by just how big they are.
