New Suzuki Swift

Mmm, not really digging this. And that stupid floating roof again.

Roof looks pretty firmly bolted to the rest of the car in that picture.
TreVoR

Don't mind that at all.
Boxer6

I like the overall look as I find it much more cohesive than the old model. Not quite so keen on the Audi-esque front end though.

Dreary
Stuntman

Agree.  Neither as cohesive nor as attractive a design as the old one IMO.  Shame.

I've noticed this trend for stupid not-even-a-window windows in the C pillar.

The Astra is also guilty of this.

Note to car makers: hidden rear door handles were good on the Alfa and have been total shit on every car since. Please stop it.
Blarno

That as well.

Genuinely few manufacturers make decent looking stuff now, at least in the cooking segments. Most take a dull and uninspiring shape and force odd styling details onto them.

Lots of cars.

Lexus RX:

Nissan Murano:

Hyundai i20 (this one is just stupid):

Etc etc. Carmakers, they don't all work on every car, and it just shows a massive lack of imagination if you're all just copying one another blindly.

These are the kind of styling cue that make some cars extremely colour sensitive.

That Swift just looks odd and a bit of a mess, it doesn't seem to know what it wants to look like, very heavy sides too.

Current swift is a far simpler and better design.

+1 a Micra-esque retrograde step.
Bob Sacamano

Much like it's inspiration, the MINI, it gets worse looking with every incarnation.

Bolted?

Well, he is quite swift.

That's OK. Not as pure a shape as the current Swift but that was a real gem. I wonder if they've upgraded the interior?
